Default Picked this up today...

Well Hello Crawler world Im kinda new here, but not to the offroad part I have been running BL M/T's for a while and thought I could slow it down a bit and enjoy the finer things. anyway I picked this up yesterday and could use the thoughts and ideas of some of you crawlin' pro's.

You can buy a star, or set up an account on Photobucket or some other picture-hosting site.

Man, that thing is FREAKING TALL! I bet your batteries get nose bleeds. You will soon find out that your COG is very high. I would consider changing your spring height.

Good lookin rig though.

thanks jones on the good looking part...I was actually thinking it wasnt tall enough I actualy got high-centered on a 4x4 fence post laying on the ground now i know i didnt hit it right but still... a 4x4. lol but really still a lot of fun.

It looks to me like the truck was built for water and mud use. If you want to use it on rocks, then some small changes need to happen.

1. Remove the diff guards underneath. You need ground clearance there.
2. Lower the overall height of the chassis. Your center of gravity is much too high for crawling on rocks. You will constantly tip over.

If you feel you are catching the chassis on too many things, then really, you just need more practice. A real common and effective chassis height is right around 2.75" from the ground.

I think you should experiment with high and low COG to really get an understanding...then modify as necessary.
