I recently ordered a XR10, and since I don't want to buy another kickass servo, i'll be taking the one off of my AX10 to put onto my XR.

so I just ordered this off of the good old ePay.

http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/items/HD-1501MG.html

at 236.1 oz-in for ~$20, I feel it was worth a shot, and no way am I going back to ~150 oz-in, not after trying 300 oz-in, its the only way to go. (if it fails, I do have an HS-645MG I could throw in)

on another note, I did take it out today for its maiden voyage since the 4 link and rebuild, torque twist is non-existant, it is very different to drive now, I love it.

I agree, a few days before I re-skinned it, I bought like 500 white ones. the white ones looked ok with the tin can skin, now they just stick out so bad.

I took it out today and tested out the stickers, a bit to much added power.... killed a set of gears in the servo, right now its an HS-645MG (fawk I miss 300+ oz-in, the 645 is an awesome servo, if you havn't used better ) now I hope my el-cheapo eBay servo gets here quick!

anyway, I snapped a few pics.

was nice to go out and crawl again, feels like its been forever, been getting lucky with the nicer weather on weekends.

its an awesome spot, 15-20 min drive from my place, but its worth it.

I fixed the servo, I had a very old HS-625MG that wasn't workin, swapped 3 of the gears into the HS-645MG case and we're good to go again.

(only 1 gear was stripped but the gears were a very differn't pitch so I had to swap more then just the one )

Oh I drive further in the summer to crawl with more people. If I lived on the mainland I'd hit up so many spots I'd drive hours for a good comp.

(I live on Vancouver island)

That crawl spot looks amazing. Looks like something from Narnia or something.

I am not happy with the venom 55t motor, I wish I had something else to put in, I might put my integy v11 back in, but its getting pretty worn out (and the screws on the endbell are stripped the the point I cant remove them), the torque the venom motor puts out is pitiful, my scaler with a tired 35t and a 21t pinion has WAY more torque. I had it out yesterday and left cause it was getting bound up and stalling out on things it should normaly walk.
at first I was blaming the battrey I was using (1250mah 20c 2s lipo) but i've used the battery in the past with no issues, it was a bit better with a 1600mah 20c 2s lipo but thats always been the case, I used to be able to crawl fine with the 1250mah, anyway.

I started to get this thing within spec for the rules around here, my wheelbase was a bit long for spec (12 7/8" or so) so I trimmed that down, cut the lower links down (both front and rear) and repositioned the front uppers for better castor, and left the rear uppers as far back to keep the pinion pointed up.

i've bent the high clearance links before, so I trimmed the back of those, to cut down some of the leverage to hopfuly not bend them again.

as seen in my last post you could see I was bitchin about no power, so since I felt that the 35t in my scaler was the most powerfull motor I had, I took it and put it in this crawler, slapped on an 11t pinion to slow it down, since I was happy with the speed of the 55t with a 14t pinion, drove it around the house to test it, within 5 min, I stripped out the last plastic gear in my transmission, I have a robinson steel final gear, guess, I should order the last gear in steel.

the drag brake is INCREDIBLE again, wow, feels like a new crawler, guess I gotta rob the gear out of my scaler for now, damnit, shouldnt have sold all my spare parts.

i've borrowed an idler gear from my other tranny, and I just ordered a HR stainless idler gear, (hopefuly it gets here before I break the gear for my spare tranny) it was a bit cheaper then the robinson racing gear, has anyone run the HR gear? how has it held up

went for a crawl today, smoked a motor, so I threw something of my own together, so far testing in the house it seems pretty peppy, I really liked the 35t motor with the 11t pinion so I wanted to stick with that.

I used the Venom 55t can (removed the sticker, now it just looks awesome), since its the newest motor I have, put an integy 35t arm in it, with new integy brushes, tried a water break in, feels like it will be a good performer. can't wait to try it on the rocks, still arc's pretty bad forward instantly to reverse or vice versa, I think thats normal? I hope so haha.
