Fastback Shock setup im so undecided about my shock setup(oil weight and spring strength) i was wondering what other people were running on there fastback. |
i run losi shocks and depending on the weight of mine it will be white and gold springs or gold or white and im jsut gonna stick with 45weight oil all around |
Traxxas big bores 50 wt front, 45 right rear, 60 left rear losi golds front losi whites rear Same oil setup as DickyT has (unless he changed it that is). |
Losi crawler shocks, gold springs 50w front 60w lr 40w rr 5.98 lbs ready to run |
Losi crawler shocks gold springs 50w front 60w left rear 45w right rear |
are losi golds the same as losi yellows? 2.75" long and 2.0 spring rate |
No Losi golds are a softer rate than yellows. Axial Comp shocks Dual rate pistons- fast compression slow rebound 35wt front with Losi gold springs 45wt left rear Losi grey spring 40wt right rear Losi white spring |
Good timing on this... finally ditching my stock axial shocks for some nice big bores this week... thanks for the tips boys! |
Good comparison chart for any one curious about spring rates! http://www.teamlosi.ru/techtips/spring_chart.htm Note I believe the golds are 1.4! |

Now if Only I could get some small springs that soft to fit on my big bores. Might be stuck running the long pinks to get 2.3. I guess we'll see how it does! |
Running Losi's Whites on all four corners, she is a fat pig. 60 wt in the left rear and right front. 30 wt in the right rear and left front. Tried Losi gold springs and it was a little soft for my liking. Like I said, she is heavy. I have a dig unit and a full size dig servo in her, so she is not light. The Losi shocks will give you about 3" of clearance at the belly, and with some high clearance links, you will be very good to go. |
Is anyone running 3.5"? I am in need of some new shocks and can't decide. Thought I was gonna run 4" losi's, now I'm leaning towards big bores. May just have to get 2 sets and see how me likes em. |
All the builds I've seen are 4" of your choice. You can try the 3.5... might just need less limiters? or they will just be plain ol to short! |
