| servo linkage to VP dig
I found out that without internally rewiring my TQ 2.4 4ch., i can't set EPA's on ch.3. For a quick setup, i just drilled another hole further down on the servo arm to have less throw for the shifter. Having said all that, what i would like to build or buy is a "servo saver" type linkage. i've seen one on the boards, but can't find it again. It had a spring on both sides of the servo arm and set screw stops on the rod. Could you guys post some pics of yours, or a link to one? Thanks. |

Here's the linkage on my RC10GT. I built something very similar on a friends dig before he upgraded radios. It worked well but not as good as having a solid linkage. You need that instant pressure to have the strength to pull the dogs out while under a bind. |

some fine tune tweaking perhaps? maybe a stronger spring? anythings better then nothing to save those gears on the servo. or...is this not even an issue on a DiG? |

Romulus22, i chuckle (how the hell do you spell chuckle?) at your avatar, genius. Nice RC10. That's the type of link i want to build. i do like the idea of a solid link, and that's what i built, but i was concerned about the pressure on the servo before the dogs lined up and engaged (X2 swampdawg). Post-up anyway EeePee! Who's Todd? BLKXJ 96, that's almost exactly what my link looks like now, except i used the bent ends to create an offset. Does your hi-tec strain till the dogs line up? Great info guys, thanks. |

It did when it was new, but with use the corners have all been rouned off on the dogs and they line up and lock in very easy now. When it was new it would **snap** like when you break a CVD. | |

That will work as long as the servo isn't trying to push or pull past the end points of the dig. You don't need to worry about the strain it takes while engaging or disengaging. Listen for any hum in the servo while it is fully locked and unlocked. If not then you are good. |

Thanks Todd. SwampDawg, i think we both did our research on this board and that's why we both ordered the VP! It will be black or silver and the install was a breeze (except for figuring out the servo link). The parts inside the housing are already installed for you. Just flip your skid and tranny if you want it rearward. Also, the TCS skid works great. Thanks BLKXJ96. This is part of a Proline Tuber build on stock chassis. The idea is to stretch the WB and widen the front track and build a "bigger" tuber with a clean semi-scale look (minimum wires showing). |
