| Anyone run a 5700kv?
I put a Castle 5700kv & Mamba Max Pro ESC in my AX10 (with punisher shafts) and all I can say is WOW, It's super fun.... Is there anything wrong with running this setup??? One thing I did notice is that it's much faster in reverse than in forward??? Last edited by F1GHTF1R3W1THF1Re.; 10-30-2010 at 11:30 AM. |

If it's running faster in reverse, it sounds like the motor is wired backwards.

Check the programming on your esc, I think reverse speed is set lower than forward by default. That being said, I put a brushless 6900kv CC motor on my rig....holy ish! It was crazy fast on a 6 cell nimh pack, I pulled it out soon after, no torque and clogged really bad. I have been really tempted to try it with a 3 cell lipo, but I can only imagine the carnage.

Hmm for blasting around its a blast. For actual crawling, forget it It is WAY to fast and doesn't have enough torque to get the job done. Rock racing, maybe but you may end up doing more backflips and stuff than staying on the course |

I am running the castle MMP and 5700 kv motor in my sc truck and am almost doing back flips. I can only immagine what it would do in a crawler. Time to droop it and put on sand paddles for that one.

I have an 8000kv motor and mamba micro in my MRC and they baloon out like that too. I think it's freakin cool as hell ripping around with it but it tore up the tranny and diffs quickly. I have a sidewinder and a 4600kv that's going to go into a Cherokee when I get it built. I'm hoping to do a jeep speed build with it. Oh where in PA are you? |
