Default Ax-10 Rock Racer or Rs10 RockSlider

Hey guys im semi-new to this site, I say that becasue I used to be a member on here but then forgot my account password, so I had to make a new one.

So I used to own the Losi 1/18 scale crawler and I just absolutely miss it to death, But I want something bigger and better. So the two crawlers I'm debating on buying are the Ax-10 Rock Racer(aroung $250) or the RedCAt RS10 RockSlider(around $160)

The reason I want the AX-10 is because I want some that can go fast and still crawl, plus its way easier to find parts for this rig. The reason I want the RS10 RockSlider is becasue its cheap and it has four wheel steering. And parts for this truck would be harder to find.

So leave comments on which one you think I should get.

Thanks

I have an ax10 crawler, and an rs10. If the only reason you want an RS10 is rear steer, get the ax10 and convert it. I like my RS10 because it was cheap, and does ok in my rock pile at home, but the ax10 is much better for finding parts as well as it just feels more solid.

The Ax-10... I got the kit after it came out, the only other one that I would consider now would be the XR-10. IMO

So your pretty much saying, don't go with the cheap crawlers cuz they have crappy parts. Just wait till I have a little bit more money so I can get a better quality one?

I have the crawler ax10. Other owners of the RS10 have complained about parts breaking, mine hasn't broken but I bought it used so it was probably upgraded. I love it, but save your money up and get the axe, you will be happier with it.

Ive got both, never had a problem with the rs10 breaking any parts. my ax10 was a rock racer glad i got it, but i liked the moa an travel out of the bix the rockslide offered. Either one you get will be a good choice in my book.

See, the thing is I have the money right now to get the RS10, but I don't want it to end up breaking on me and me figuring out that it was a waist of money. And I want the ax10 racer because i want something that can go fast but still be able to climb over things. I honestly have no clue what to do! I like all the features on both I'm just looking at the quality of the two products. Also the four wheel steer is atracting me to the that crawler very easily. Any more suggestions? And oh yeh, I'm not planning on doing ANY competitions, I mainly just want something to play with and have fun. But something that is also not going to break on my really quickly too.

I rolled my rs10 down a 60ft enbankment and threw it back on the wheels an worked my way back up that hill. never broke anything and i beat the crap out of thaT thing lol but so does the ax10 i bash on that rig as well. u can get rear steer kits for ax10s, if moneys not an issue then i vote ax10 its a shafty and u can go brushless setup and still be able to do some serious crawling with it. Ill tell ya the rs10 doesnt have much love in the hop up area but the ax10 has million different things to do.

Axial = durability, performance, parts, service, etc

I'm sure the RS10 is fine.
Just take a look at how many folks are viewing the AX10, XR10, or SCX10 forums vs. any other vehicle forum.

When an Axial breaks, your run to the store and buy a part. When an RS10 part breaks, you place an online order and wait...

True, so yeh I think the RS10 is off my list now, but now all im wondering is like, if you put the 14t gear in the racer and the locker in front, does it crawl pretty well? Cuz I want something that can crawl, or even just like get over obsticles, but I want something I can bash on and hill climb and stuff like that. Would the racer be better for me? Or is the RTC just an all around better truck? Cuz they cost the same.

The Axial RTR was my first crawler. Still my favorite!!! (although heavily modified)
The RTC is better in many ways;
Lower comp style body, shorter shocks, better tires, stronger servo. And the locker and smaller pinion are already in place.
The axles and drive line are the same as the RTR.

BTW - My AX-10 crawls anything an MOA can, and its very very fast.
The set-up you want (speed plus crawlability) is very doable and insanely fun. If you can't crawl it, jump it.

Yeh for sure. But i just figured out that i need to get a new snow boarding jacket, so im gonna have to wait awhile before I get a crawler. Still kinda debating on which one i want, $260 is a lot for a 16 year old with a paart time job. Lol

Default option c

Or you can take optin c tatg would be the axial scorpin kit you can build it and then when you get the money put the good parts in it such as speed controler and motor. Then you wll have a vary capable crawler that will stand the testof time

my vote, if not xr10, then ax10, but not the racer, the crawler.

Have you taken into consideration the scx10? It can be fast and a capable crawler. I'm just saying this because I chose the ax10 over the scx but now I regret it and am going to convert.
