Default AX-10 Monster

Mostly for kicks and 's, i mounted Proline part #'s 6064-01 & 6064-00 17mm hubs to the axles (longer ones up front). The fit is real good and jamb up, no wobble or slop.

This opens up new wheel & tire possibilities for me, especially when i stretch the truck (15 or 16" WB maybe?) The goal is to mount up something real narrow and tall.

It's a blast to drive. The FXR drag brake wants to flip the truck over with the extra grip. Crawl'in is limited by the body, but steering is the same as with my chisels (which with my setup right now was'nt real great to begin with).

i had to grind down a wheel tool to fit inside the piece.

used 2 more shims to load the pin a little

Couple more.

This helps

With the 2.2's. Can switch back pretty fast with 3 tools.

i have some delrin rod, a drill bushing and set screws com'in from RCBros to see if i can stretch it. Will probably just join two Axial shafts for now (cheap).

I am going to run an Axail as-2 servo on my VP dig and was just wondering how well it works?

I have the ProLine tuber chassis on my AX10 too and love it.

Ehh... It has it's challenges. The tires are too hard, wide and those big badland lugs hook on the body and "activate" the slipper.

Do it. Works fine. VP designed this dig to work with less than high torque and mini servos. This is my first dig and it took some time to figure out the linkage because i don't have EPA's yet.

Tuber "body".

Ahh...the voice of experience. Hell Yeah it did! Except i could'nt hear the "crispys" over the tires ripp'in on pavement. i lapsed and started driving it like a basher. With a 15t pinon and extra tire, it was fun while it lasted.
Have'nt looked into it yet, but noticed i only had 3 wheel drive.

Hey Justin, RPP has got them down to a reasonable price. Body panels are dirt cheap right now too.

Turns out, nothing broke! The 12mm wheel nut loosened up and let the adapter slide off of the pin and the pin dissapeared.
Traxxas 2wd slash front stub shafts are a little longer than the axial stub shafts, but i just did'nt tighten it up good enough, plus i was driv'in like i stole it.

i'm gonna tune it and stretch it to be slow and low, then look into a different tire/wheel.

It's cool, cause just mess'in around, i can try 1/8 buggy wheels and other 17mm stuff. Never tried "cut n' shut", but kinda want to.

Thanks

By the way, have you guys ever hit "Submit Reply" and you're not logged in anymore? Is there a time limit? I've had beautifully composed replies just go poof.

You can't tighten them enough. Blue locktite next time.

EDIT. Are those lock nuts? I can't tell from the picture. I know AKA adapters do not use lock nuts.

No, they are not locknuts. Just tiny washers/shims to load the bearing correctly when using these on slash hubs. Proline and AKA's stuff seems so similar. Probably owned by the same family.

Alright, DEFINITELY use locktite. Mine came off on the track, but luckily I was able to track the nut down.

Just ordered one! This looks like it would make a great basher like that!

That's putting it mildly......BOHICA!!

Now I need to cruise the classifieds and buy a used AX-10 to make a monster like that! Add STRC extended hexes, and you won't hit the frame. I think I have 12mm on the front of my Fastback.

But yeah, you definitely want to upgrade knuckles and C-hubs to aluminum with that beast!
