I cant answer what the other guys say but i tinkered with my stock shocks using oil and different spring rates and it does very well. If you dont have the cash flow, mess with the springs and shock oil its a 15 dollar upgrade lol

From what I have seen so far on the subject it seems the top three recommended shocks in no particular order are the Traxxas Big Bores, Losi Leakers, and the Axial Comps. You should be able to pick any of those up for $60 a set or less.

I'm using EVADER rear alum threaded shocks in all 4 corners with rod end mod. Measure at 4 1/4" hole to hole after the mod. They perform just like my other losis but got them dirt cheap.

Tho that may have work and may still be working. Adding weight to ur wheels and pushing extreme flex is going to pop the stock shock cap right off. That was the first thing to blow out on my ARTR way back when.

Only if you want the practice of mounting them up, than taking them back off when you buy the Losi, Traxxas, or Axial.

X2 on the big bores! I run my 3.5" BB's with a rod end mod and MRC springs... work flawlessly and no leakage at all! plus you can buy a pack of 8 for $60

So if I get the traxxas big bores what kind of "rod mod" would I need to do? And what springs would I buy? I'm really new to this. Please help!!!!

Get a set of Losi Crawler shocks, run 30w oil in the front with Gold springs and 50w oil in the rear with yellow springs.....all shocks are going to leak if you use them enough, if your shocks are not leaking your not working them hard enough.

I have these aluminum shocks the guy gave gave me and installed those. The problem is they are really long and leak overnight. I don't think that's normal.
