| AX10 RTC run time
Planing to order a 6 cell, Elite 1500mah nimh Saddle pack for the front axle of my new RTC crawler. What kind of run time can I expect with average use ?(whatever that is...) Any advice is appreciated. Don't plan to go lipo, but is there another good way to get the weight low and still get decent run times, or will this set-up work? If you don't plan on going lipo yeah saddle packs are your best bet. I would say 1500mah should get you a good 30 min with a 55turn. Depending on how throttle happy you are maybe a little more or less

That sounds about right. I'm running 1600 8 cells (for now) and thats what I get for run time, give or take.

So, if I made the jump to lipo, what kind of runtime can I get? I would like to either run saddle packs or a pack on the front 3 link. Is there a way to get nimh up front and down low and get longer run times? Can I fit some combination of the Elite 5000mah SC cells on there? That would step up the runtime I'm sure. I love that my friends AX10 can run for a couple hours on the 4000mah or so 7.2 stick he has, but it's stuck way up top and makes the thing super top heavy... I would love a longer runtime than 30 min... |

For the price of one of those high mah batteries you can get a couple smaller mah pack for the same price probably. Technically a 1500 lipo is the same as a 1500 NiMH as far as I know. Its the small size and lightweight that gives it a big advantage in performance. |

I run a Maxamps 2000mah 2s lipo on my ax10 and have it mounted on the front with the axial battery relocating plate. i usually get any where from 40-60 minutes. i have 3 of these batteries and love them.

What u really can do is to take two 1600mah saddle things and make them parallel. It should work i think, correct me if i'm wrong. U can put two in the front and other two somewhere else, or u can connect them as u like (but parallel) and according to ur weight distribution preferences Last edited by shizzz; 11-28-2010 at 06:35 AM. |

I have gotten over an hour out of my first charge on my 1800 7.2v pack. It is big and heavy for a 6 cell though. I would rather have a split pack, but for $10 I was happy to get it for a starter.
