Anyone know if the GC-3 skid fits on this GC-2 chassis, or if they are even available separately? I asked in the GC thread, but has not gotten a response yet?

Default Nice start

My daughter is 1.5 and I have had to rebuild my original ax-10 as I have no money for a new XR10, but building it slow and "borrowing tips" from RCC this should be a good rig.

I haven't seen any yet. I know Brian's Hobbyland sells the skids for the mini so I would assume that the 2.2 will be coming.

Alright, small update. Got some stuff to make lower links.

East End Machining Delrin links (thanks Boosted4lyf)
Traxxas Revo ends
Had to buy a tap and drill bit to drill the links out and tap them to 8-32 for the grubs I already had on hand.
Made a plate for the front links

Links made up

Ended up heating and bending them

Still need to figure out where to put the receiver and the MM

Was hoping to get more done today, but it just didn't work out.

I think in your case the easiest place to mount your remaining electrics is on top of your front upper links on a lexan plate. Or you could get creative and mount them to the inside of your chassis plates, looking at your pictures there should be enough room to mount one on each side.

Yeah, thought about the upper links, I made a plate for the front and mounted it today. I was thinking of using it for a battery though. As for inside the chassis plates, the problems with that are, the dig servo, and the big a$$ JR receiver I have

Was thinking about relocating or removing the chassis brace/braces ( the one with the loose screws in the above pic)

I could make another plate for the rear links and do rx/esc there I suppose.

Been scoping the GC-3 thread for ideas. Really considering ditching the dig. I have no plans to comp.

OK guys I need some help. I just got a HH Crawlmaster outrunner (thanks Scottb83) First thing is, the shaft is too long. It appears I may need to space the motor from the motor plate about 5mm to prevent it from hitting the chassis side plate. I can post a pic if needed. I don't know if maybe it is because this chassis is narrower than stock, or if this is common. This motor uses 25mm mounting bolt spacing so the HH motor plate won't work?

Also, I am going to run a HH 3s lipo, what size pinion should I start with? I have a 90t spur gear on right now.

well......it seems the motor problem is gearing related. I suppose I will just have to fudge with it and see what I can come up with. Or, cut the motor shaft shorter. The only gears I have at the moment are a 90t and 87t spur, and 12t,16t, and 17t pinions.
With the 87/12 the motor shaft is inside the chassis side plate but it rubs and the motor rubs on the trans.

This is with the 12/87 gearing. motor shaft rubs chassis and motor can rubs trans.

Also, look how tight that gear mesh is

couldn't resist the #48

Dude I have never had that problem before if the bigger gears work for you go that route otherwise space the motor off the mount or cut the shaft. Sorry I could not be of more help.

may just end up cutting the shaft, seems the most plausible option.

Here is one with the shaft on the outside of the chassis with the pinion removed for a reference on just how long the motor shaft is.
