It still has a 12turn Blue cobalt puller. I switched to a Mamba Micro pro to try to help with the throttle smoothness. But it's still not great... I have a Holmes Crawlmaster Pro 16turn sitting on the bench I might put in there TOM

And I know that our pro-shafty class dropped down to 2 people, hopefully this will help bring some interest back into it.

And with the switch in tires, it's really hard for me to notice a difference... Wait till the update to see what tires I'll be running

TOM
The guys running both an MOA and a shafty truck will then have an advantage in the shafty class. Not sure how this will all shake out, but I guess more trucks in the shafty class will be good.

I bent them myself. Not hard at all. Just put them in a vice, and use the box end of a 10mm wrench and push

I found the axle C's needed clearanced on the inside because the Super300's were hitting them. It turns pretty nice now.

And of course you can take this to the Southern OR comps! Good luck though, the motor is REALLY jumpy. I need to mess with the throttle curves some more....

Knowing TOM, he just went to town. I never do a test lol, just bend away. But I have built many trucks, and am confident in my abilities, as is TOM.

Not that it's a big deal, but I was wondering if the edge of the vise or wrench left indents or permanent marks on the Ti?

Yeah it left little indents in the links. You can also use a tubing bender and some good muscle to bend them if you don't want any marks in your links.

I usually try REALLY hard to keep my rock crawler from getting scratches or gouges in it . And make sure to polish my links with polishing cloth. And clean every bit of dirt and grease off my axles and chassis between every crawling trip. Then my tires... whew... they get unmounted after every day of crawling. Foams are set aside to re-expand and dry out. Then I soak the tires in a solution of simple green and WD-40. Then run the tires through the dishwasher and then let them dry overnight.

It works out really well on keeping my truck performing at it's top level. But it sure makes for long nights at multi day comps, like the AWCC

Gives a whole new meaning to OCD
I'm digging this car Tom, next time I'm down I'll have to see how my non-dig shafty compares...course I don't have super300's for ridiculous steering or good tires...so in the words of the great Hackster(Sean) I'll just have to "drive harder and smarter"

Here it is with some wheels/tires on it. A Cheapbatterypacks.com 850 3S. And an Axial Hartline body.

Just under 5lbs with 6.6 oz added to the front wheels

Here's the new sweetness . . .

I didn't like the stock motor plate with my little puller motor, so I started cutting up the stock one.

Then cut out a template of a new one

Then did some cutting and filing while I was waiting for some more work to come in.

Here it is mounted in the chassis, still need to cut off some excess material. But it's a good start!

The motor only hangs out the chassis like 3/8"

SSZ wheels mounted up (Thanks to Falloout ) And steering roughly mocked up.

With 725 hubs im right at 10.5" at the widest part of the tire.

600's in the rear for just over 10" width.

Turnin' right

Turnin' left

Electronics and Battery plate for the front links

It looks like everything will fit just perfectly! Thanks again Chris for the Batteries!

Mocked up in the chassis and at full compression

That's all for now! More updates to come this week!

TOM

Where do you get that braided wire loom that you have over your steering servo wire? I've gotta get me some! The crawler looks great!
