Here the crazy abortion of a truck I started with. Work has been slow this week. So I decided to do a much needed re-build. Fully Loaded AX-10 Axles, custom chassis and WK transmission. Here's the new sweetness . . . I didn't like the stock motor plate with my little puller motor, so I started cutting up the stock one. Then cut out a template of a new one Then did some cutting and filing while I was waiting for some more work to come in. Here it is mounted in the chassis, still need to cut off some excess material. But it's a good start! The motor only hangs out the chassis like 3/8" SSZ wheels mounted up (Thanks to Falloout ) And steering roughly mocked up. With 725 hubs im right at 10.5" at the widest part of the tire. 600's in the rear for just over 10" width. Turnin' right Turnin' left Electronics and Battery plate for the front links It looks like everything will fit just perfectly! Thanks again Chris for the Batteries! Mocked up in the chassis and at full compression That's all for now! More updates to come this week! TOM |

Got some more work done late last night on the shocks These are the rod ends I used. They are for a Revo/Jato. Threaded in a long 3mm set screw Then chucked it up in a drill Then took a hack saw blade to make a groove in it Now its ready for the e-clip! Associated Gold springs Epoxy lined Shrink Tube is my friend! Almost finished And done! At full steering |

Here is the electronics I was able to finish up! Clear shrink tube over the BEC and 18 gauge wire. Don't mind the dent in the Capacitor It's hard to see the details, but I used a micro deans for the power and ground to the servo, then used the regular end to go into the reciever with just the yellow wire intact. Nice and clean with just the motor wires running to the back of the chassis! All ready to run, minus body mounts And the final weight! It's going to gain some weight once I install the Robinson transmission gears and spool. So it will probably end up being right at 5lbs. Now I just need to figure out how the girlfriend wants to paint the body, this is her sportsman truck afterall... TOM |

| I would consider only running 3 zip ties on that electronics tray. Leave one or both off at the chassis. It will limit flex, and add spring rate. It acts like tortion. Try making something that ties into your servo plate. That way, you can get the electronics lower Quote:
You will like the way I am going to paint mine for this weekend Looks good man. Super low CG. Nice

I got the truck just about finished the other night and was able to drive it today at the ORCRC comp. It drove amazing to say the least! I have an Eritex dig I can mount up to it... Might just have to drive this instead of my LCC! Here is a shot of the body all trimmed up and mounted And I took the motor plate back out and trimmed some of the fat off of it. I also geared it down from 16/87 to 12/93, much better low end now UPSKIRT! Castor angle with my Gunnar Beef "Toobs". It was even higher before I spaced out the upper links 7mm. Put some Ti Lundsford links on the steering Next project is so bore some holes through this darn spool and get it on a diet! Hopefully the trans holds up in the meantime Did I mention that the truck drove freakin' sweet today?!? Jaybe, maybe if you would have came to the comp today you could have driven it TOM |

I forgot to take a picture of how I set my gear mesh. Since one of the motor screws is covered by the spur gear, I drilled a 1/8" hole through the spur gear. Now I can fit my allen driver in with no problems! I got some more Sweetness mounted up last night! These Eritex dig units sure are nice! So with the dig unit installed - minus servo and still no HD trans parts; the truck weighs in just under 5lbs I'm missing the shift fork for the dig, so after I get it this weekend I will have more updates! And I still need to paint the body. Anyone have suggestions? TOM |

The driveshafts are from a Losi Comp Crawler. They have a metal CV joint at each end and are plastic in the center. They are light, slim and seem to take plenty of abuse. Also easy to modify length, unlike an MIP. I didn't break a thing at SuperDave's house on Sunday, and that place is WELL known for breaking crawlers to pieces.

You should be happy Dave, last night I finally fixed that broken motor wire No more thinking I got a boat load of dead batteries And I did a quick easy paint job last night. It was super cold in the garage and I didn't take my time, so there are some flaws in the paint. But it's not a big deal.. I cut the body sides too short anyways
