Haha nice pic. Yeah it was a quick steep fast learning curve for me. Until 4 months ago I hadn't had an RC since I was like 9 years old.

Sure wished things would of worked out so we could of got together and crawled last weekend.

I'll keep in touch.

OH yeah I forgot to mention. My skins got shipped last week. They should be waiting for me in Cali when I get back.

Update:

Glad to be home in Cali with the family. Skins still haven't arrived but there were lots of storms back east. If I don't get them soon Michelle has already offered to send another set. Definitly great customer service!!!

I finally got around to trimming up the wiring a bit. Was able to shave off 1.2 oz. and it doesn't look like so much of a rats nest. While doing this I went ahead and put a female plug on the servo so the BEC could plug directly into it. Then just put the signal wire in a male plug and ran it to the receiver.

I have yet to make a comp out here with the Socal group because of work but after getting my 1:1 crawler put back together this evening, I got a chance to go scouting one of the comp spots only a mile from my house. (no more 1-3 hour trips yeah!!!)

It is a pretty cool spot. You could build courses for days and still not cover a small portion of it. The socal rc crew has spent a LOT of time out there placing rocks and some old bridges to make the whole area RC crawler freindly. Let me know if you are ever in the area. We will put a day trip together with some of my friends and head out to the Hammers or something for some 1:1 crawling.

One step at a time. My goal is all the weak points first. Since leaf springs are strong and proven links weren't a priority for me yet. 16" coilovers and links are on the list though.

I wish I Had good crawlin spots that close... must be nice!

Love the 1:1 rig... I'm a toyota guy my self... I run what I call a foyota. Ford ranger and toyota drive train. Rangers are cheap up here and way more plentiful for when stuff breaks. But obviously the toy stuff is way better. Got a ranger motor trans and t-case with a toy case divorced after that with toy diffs. Linked up front and leafs out back with 37" pits. Always a good time!

I hate to admit it but mine started with a JEEP waggy front axle. But hey, I wheeled the hell out of it. So whatever works for you I say go for it. Finally mine is running custom one tons front and rear.

I figured as much. I've been building the Taco for over 7 years now. In my eyes it isn't even close. I still remember the days of raiding junk yards every weekend to get enough spare parts to go wheeling. Now I am sucked into another little money pit of a hobby.

I'll be around for one on the 26th, but will be gone before the next. I gotta go make some money so I can build an MOA.

You should do a build thread so I can check out your new crawler.

Installed Crawler Innovations servo guard. Finally got smart. $16 to protect $150 servo.

Also got some heat shrink from Cheap Batteries. Works great to repair minor rock rash on lipos.

Sorry but just had to show off new Biohazard Optima Battery mount for 1:1 crawler too.

Best use of a stock Axial battery tray as well. Nice work!
