To trim or not to trim
 

Well Ive decided to trim my HPI jeep body and heres how it turned out. I didnt cut too much so that itll look too much of a crawler but just enough for it not to rub like the way it was before. I like it . . let me know what you think. Its not all that great and all but here it goes.

This 4 link setup is great! I dont have the torque twist problem anymore all gone. It took alot of time playing around with springs but it was worth it and a future rear steer plan in effects "thumbsup"

Thanks for the comment I think it looked kind of wierd when I trim but oh well it had to be done.

Thanks for those comments. Thats what I was exactly after. A crawler but with a scaler look and now time to work on the inside. These vertical body mounts are awesome got rid of those side mounts tahts why there was a hole on the side.

Man, I am glad I found this thread... I have a new to me ax10 with the same Jeep body. It rubs something fierce, so I have been using the original axial body instead. I have been thinking about trimming it, but it looked like I would have to completely butcher it to get enough clearance. I think you just motivated me to go ahead and hack away at it... well, after I give it to my 9 yr old some for Xmas. :D Also, those vertical body posts look like a much better way to go. Thanks for the info.

Nice! now my rig has a twin but different color links,shocks, wheels and tires and some other minor stuffs lol. I suggest take those body mounts off and get the vertical ones its awesome I like it beat the hassle of trying to aim the hole from the sides just be carefull where to make those mounting holes. Good job ill show updates of my rig soon when im done with some of the things I did in the weekend. "thumbsup" . .. vertical body mounts made by proline Mud Puppy theres alot in ebay if you want it from there.

I have the same body for mine aswell after stealing it off my LST, I also cut the running boards off of mine.

it's lookin good i trimed my ax 10 body also

more new pics this time with a proline front frame extension the plastic is kinf of weak on my first roll over it broke so I used it as a template as you can see in one of the pics that its all metal now so its much reliable than before... enjoy "thumbsup"

there yah go thats all that I have so far but will keep on trying. Theres pretty much alot of things done just to make the body fit right without trimming too much but had to be done. example would be those front mounts they wont reach unless you trim more but i kept trimming to a minimum and improvised hehe youll figure when you try to do it.
