Default 55t motor from stock

While building my car I was going to buy a cheap 55t for more torque to crawl with then laster buy brushless handwound ESC and lipo along with servo after I figure out a decent combo and get more $.

But I'm wondering what would be the better motor, the Integy matrix pro lathe, Novak 3556 Terra Claw, or a HPI 55t

I think the right way is to change esc first.

I was planning on buying the Tekin hand wound + FXR combo, but thats probably 2 months out, I have by the time shipping is done almost $550 worth of parts on my list, then was going to do the motor ESC battery and servo all at once.

So u have two ways, if u stay brushed.
1. Buy new esc and wait until the stock motor dies.
2. Buy the combo and enjoy.

Recommend going with a 45t motor. The 55 will give you lots of torque, but your wheel speed will suffer.

I run a 55t motor in one of my rigs and a buddy has a 45t. He uses a 14t pinion and i use a 17t pinion. we get very similar wheel speeds.

Cool may try the 45t, like I said this was to be a temp motor over my 27t while I save money to buy a couple things at once.

thanks guys

Integy. Because it can be taken apart and cleaned up correctly if the need ever arises. The others are a sealed can and just a cheaper motor all together.

I want to add this in there. Many people go from a 55 turn down to a 35 and won't go back. The Integy 35 turn, while not great, is not bad and will do everything the 55 turn will, AND be able to go faster. You won't notice a loss in torque, but you will see a gain in overall power and speed.

X2, I was going to say the integy motor since it can be taken apart for cleaning/repair or rebuild

I never thought i'd ever go down to a 35t motor in my AX10, and sure enough tried it and love it, I went from a 55t with 14t pinion, to a 35t with 11t pinion, way more power then before, and wheelspeed when needed.

X3 Great low speed drivability and plenty of wheel speed, specially when paired up with a 3s 11.1volt lipo battery
