Default Hello!!

Hey Guys,

Just dropping in to introduce myself.

I'm the lucky owner of a new AX10 Scorpion my wife gave me for Christmas.
After many years in RC this will be my first crawler so over to the newbie section I go.
I plan on enjoying the stock current setup until I find my skills improve enough to warrant hop-ups. For the time being I will enjoy.

If its the RTC version Id say a must is the metal upgrade kit and metal steering horn. Best 50 bucks Ive spent. There right its a addiction or a obsession depending on who you talk to..30 Degree lower links if clerance is a issue

Yes its the rtc version. So far I have broke a drive shaft. With no stores open, i pulled the axles out of my traxxas stampede and snaped them onto the yokes. Fits like a glove. Mip's are on my list so far. I plan on upgrading as required.

I just got an AX-10 as well. And first time out, I broke a drive shaft. Lil John on the board here helped me out with a pretty solid fix/ upgrade that doesn't cost too much. Pick up a pack of the Traxxas drive shafts your talking about and cut the flange off the male end to make asingle spline shaft. Take one female end and trim it down about half the length. With a little super glue, glue the shaft into the famale end. Now attach the new female end into the u-joint. Take a stock trxxas famale end and attach it to the other u-joint. Now you have a duel female ended drive shaft. The Traxxas female ends are very strong and once I did that, I haven't had a broken drive shaft again. So basically, I saved about $30.00 and have a solid drive shaft. If I get into comptition, I might get some metal shafts, but right now, it isn't needed from what I can tell. Oh, and while you are doing that, pull the set screws out of the couplings and put a little lock tite on them.

Just one thing make sure to get blue loc-tite. With another crawler I have they said to use red and man was that a mistake.

I fly Heli's, I know what happens when you miss putting loctite on a bolt..BAD things happen.
When I pulled the yoke off I noticed the set screw was lose. So I got out the old 242. I did notice that the screws are really crappy also might change them out.

Another big hi to the BC boys.

Loosening the slipper a tad helps keep the driveshafts where they belong.
