Looking good so far. Good work on the 4 link's!

It's interesting to see how each persons truck evolves over time. Some have quick changes, other morph more gradually.

But modding is half the fun!

Enjoy!

well i decided to make my own cage. its simple just a skeleton of the stock body never seen it done before. thought it might be kinda cool.

i used 3/16'' steel rod let the shapping and welding begin!

matt_22 01-06-2011 07:11 PM

well looks like ill be ditching the cage and ordering a comp body i picked up a scale jk jeep project to do custom cage work too....

Mud Puppy 01-06-2011 07:18 PM

That's kind of too bad. It was an interesting project.

Highlucks 01-06-2011 07:23 PM

That is a shame, it looks awesome so far.

I reckon finish it off any way and stick some boddy panels on it.

PhantomRS10 01-06-2011 07:27 PM

Or throw it up in the forsale section:twisted:........... Its a shame because u just never find a stock body that looks that good...

matt_22 01-06-2011 10:42 PM

Well it was getting too heavy, after putting weights in my front wheels and cage. I just don't thing it would have performed well. If some body could give me some ideas to make the front look better. And I couldn't figure out any way to mount it if it was just gonna be a tuber.

Any ideas?

SmokinRocks 01-07-2011 12:45 AM

weld your side plates to it and just make it a full on tuber. just when it was getting good too.

matt_22 01-07-2011 01:12 AM

any ideas on what i could do to the front of it? it needs something else and i guess i could just make some 1/8'' steel plates and go from the bottom of the door and goe down toworrds the chassis??

well now yall gat me thinkin about im gonna hit the drawing board for some ideas!!!!

illl be back "thumbsup"

SmokinRocks 01-07-2011 02:02 AM

shorten up the nose hoop and run another tube from the side to the front and a few gussets.

matt_22 01-07-2011 10:46 PM

this is what i fab up tig welded some steel brackets and bolted it to the chassis

http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/...10107-2041.jpg

http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/...10107-2205.jpg

and cut up the body and made some pannels

http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/...10107-2220.jpg

what yal think??

Get that giant antenna under control too;-). I read a thread about making a plate to wrap it around out of lexan, I took the same idea and did it with styrene.
