AX-10 GC-3A Sportsmans rig. 2 Attachment(s) Well, the time has come for me to build a sportsmans rig. At the last CORCC comp I attended I borrowed a sporty from someone to run and it just really makes sense for me to run this class. In Colorado we don't allow guys to run the pro and sporty classes, you have to choose which on you want to run. I had a blast running the courses and helping some of the new guys get the hang of things. I came home that night and begun to dig through the parts pile and get a rig of my own together. Between what I had here and a few phone calls I am now almost ready to go. Specs front to back. HB Rovers white Crawler InNovations double deuce foams Vanquish Products DH ProComp II .6 Caliber SST Weights VP 585 spacers VP Zero Ackerman high steer knuckles HiTec 7950 servo Axial heavy duty overdrive gearset Gunnar Beef toobs Aluminum inner c's of some unknown origin from the parts bin. MIP Metal driveshafts Robinson Racing one piece hardened outdrive Tekin 55turn motor, for now will be changed. Tekin FXR VP SLW v4 rear wheels VP 460 spacers I have on the way are some Integy MSR11 shocks as recommended by Turbofest, I still need to figure out what I am going to do for a body and a motor at this point, I know the 55 turn won't be enough for my driving style. The rig as it sits today, is here in these pics, as soon as the chassis gets here I'll be putting it together and it should just about be ready to take for a drive. Austin has been telling me for a while how good this thing works and I am sure that with 3 National Championship titles to his name he knows what he is talking about. |
Looks good jason. I was starting to wonder if you owned a crawler haha. Looking forward to seeing it assembled, sounds like a good spec list. |
Well at least you know you won't be able to blame the chassis if you lose :flipoff: Nice start man. |
Looks like you have a great start for a killer rig. I enjoy mine more every time I drive it. I would suggest getting the super 300's they make a world of difference in steering radius and eliminating loosness in the driveline. That's my .02"thumbsup" |
This is going to be a great build , "thumbsup" sportsman class watch out...... |
All I'd change is the 55 turd motor. I'm looking forward to see what you do with this."thumbsup" |
That'll never work....just look who designed it:mrgreen: Git'r'dun Boss, and get to showing you still gotz the skillz"thumbsup" What body do you have in mind? I already know it will be in the RCC colors...8) |
Don't take this the wrong way, but if I entered the sportsman class as a noob and I had to compete against you, I'd be pissed!!!! Just sayin'... |

nice Nice list of parts now x mas is over im going to build a new one to so will keep my eyes on this one. "thumbsup" |
It's great to see all the interest in shaft comp trucks for the sporty class. The Gatekeeper chassis has been a workhorse for the old shafty truck for decades best shaft chassis I've run. |
My chassis should be here soon as well. looking forward to seeing your set up |

That is how we all got hooked , nothing makes you want to crawl better than having a good veteran driver give you tips.I like the way you think sir.8) |
PM sent regarding a motor!!! |
I don't think the Puller motors will fit J. |
had a blast crawling with ya that day Jason...I know the other guys did too. Im glad to see this build coming on. I appreciate the fact that you took the time to run with us. |
Got my chassis and my shocks in the mail today, guess what I'll be doing tomorrow? |
