New Axial for Christmas

I picked up an Axial RTC on Christmas eve for the Pro-Line roll cage I ordered. :D I thought the RTC was a pretty nice crawler for a RTR, but this one came with a 2.4ghz radio and a Lipo ready speed control.
What I have added and done...
Pro-Line roll cage
Losi LEDs
Dlerin on axel battery plates
Custom Delrin links with Revo rod ends
Custom plated steel steering link with Revo rod ends
Integy skid plate
Integy C-hubs and carriers
Axial servo mount plate to the rear axel. It didn't come with one and there was a bit too much slop for my taste.
Doubled up the set screws in the drive shafts for good measure
I have counter sunk the bead lock ring screws with 2.5mm stainless steel flat head screws. I also counter sunk the the screws for the hub carriers to maximize steering travel.
Added 6oz of weight to the front wheels and 3oz in the back.

The roll cage and lights I purchased for this crawler, the rest I had in spares from other projects

I am looking forwarded to getting it on the rocks.

I like the countersunk ring screws, I'm going to have to look into doing that to mine.

Grimgreg, I got the idea from the Losi Comp Crawler, I ordered the hardware and countersink bit from McMaster-Carr.

(I used) screws M2.5x 10mm long (2 packs of 25): 92125A088 These use a 1.5mm allen wrench, but require drilling out the wheels and rings a bit.
screws M2x10mm long (2 packs of 25): 92125A056 These use a 1.3mm allen wrench.
bit: 27535A48

If I were to do it again I might try a different material for the screws. The sockets in the SS are really soft and if I strip one out, it is a big job removing the screw with out damaging the ring.

Traildawg362, I will one of these days. I have another project in the works for my ARTR. I am waiting for my chassis plates and other parts to be fabricated. The chassis is similar to the GC-3 or Losi but I am trying to incorporate BTA steering.

Thanks Code Red13

Yeah, that would be a pain, at least you can throw a needle nose on the stock ones if they strip. Mine are just getting a lot of rock rash on them.
