Weight questions
 
I am running axial axles, beef toobs, alum c's and vp knuckles... FF4... delrin links ect. vf dig and full size servo, stock rims/hb rovers, sidewinder esc.


This is kinda a three part question.
1. What kinda weight should I be looking for without tires and rims.
2. What way can I shead some weight from the chassis area
3. How much weight should I be running in the rims?

Right now it just feels to heavy. I was at 6.5lbs rtr with turngy 1300mah 3s battery and no beef toobs, so im at around 6.8lbs now.

Seems pretty heavy. I would shoot for under 6 lbs. I only run enough weight in my rims to keep the front to rear bias where I want it. Which is about where the front lower links mount to chassis. The beef toobs are a plus in the front because that is where you need the weight and strength. I don't run them in the rear to save weight. All just depends on preference and driving style.

Anyone have weights of there rig with no battery or tires?

1. roughly 2.5 lbs without wheels/tires. But you don't drive without the wheels and tires, so that number doesn't mean much.
2. All kinds of stuff. Get rid of anything you don't have to have. Get rid of extra wires, etc. Trim the body down to the minimum req by the rules. Run a mini servo on the dig.
3. Depends on the exact tire and rim. Aluminum rims will require less weight, plastic rims more weight. Make the fronts weigh close to 1 lb each ready to run. Rears should be about 8-9 ounces each ready to run.
