Transmitter question for 4WS

Will I be able to choose different steering modes with a FS-gt3 transmitter for 4WS??

Thanks

I use a Futaba 3PL on my 4ws rig. when it is set up for 4ws it uses the D/R (dual rate) switch to switch from 4ws to crab walk.

The other nice feature is it is a 3+1 radio so you still have a 3rd channel. i am working on using the 3rd channel to switch 4ws on and off

I wasn't looking to spend to much and wanted to know what people thought about these transmitter. This is the new version, has anyone had any experience with these and would i be able to change modes for 4WS?

If you dont want to spend a ton on the transmitter, you could just get a cheap 3 channel setupl, and then wire your 3 position 3rd channel to a PunkRC 4 steer switch. That is the way I went.

Re: Transmitter question for 4WS

I'm using direct to battery - not a weak built in ESC's BEC.
If it were the battery, then I would have the same issue without BQS. I don't.
I discussed with the BQS designer, and we suspect a faulty module.

EDIT:
Tested my module using an oscilloscope, https://docs.google.com/file/d/0Byn3...92WkhhcjRPVkE/
So the problem I'm having is because the BQS is sending a signal every 40ms instead of every 20ms. Possible bad clock, or typo is this were a programmed PIC or microcontroller.

Re: Transmitter question for 4WS

Problems have been corrected :)

Confirmed issue with the software of the module and some changes were made.

It was a very good experience for me, since I ended up picking up an arduino and oscilloscope to learn how to process these signals myself.

At which point I was able to make sense of what was going on and suggest a few things.

I've received the new quadsteer module and it works great now.
Given the nature of the previous issue and my understanding of this, I can only recommend the Bastens device, since I know it will deliver a proper signal now.

Turns out standard ways of reading and writing RC pulses, especially in a particular order can cause some issues.

So the new device works great and I received a bunch of extra stuff from Bastens as well, so mad props to the Vendor!
