U have to change the polarity, that should help.

Concerning 3S, it won't handle 3s. 2s would be just fine for the first time.

If you have the AE-2, it is programmable with CastleLink. Assumably you do, if you are going to put LiPo on it.

I started a thread about the AE-2: Has anyone seen/heard of AE-2 ESC?

Besides CastleLink, I know no other way to program it.

If you have the AE-1, you can run lipo, but there is no low voltage cutoff, so you have to be carefull.

yes the ae1 will handle a 3s pack according to the instruction manual its rated for 12 volts wich is a 10 cell nimh pack or a 3s. however like was stated befor no low voltage cutoff.i use a 3s 1350 mah 20c lipo on mine.i get about an hours worth of run time.

You can always add a low voltage cutoff module. That way you don't ruin your batteries.
