Stripped C hub hole on axle tube

I seem to have stripped the plastic hole on my axle tube where the C hub mounts, I have tried using a coarse thread machine screw but it no worky. I suppose I could move up to a slightly larger screw, but is there a better option? I'm not real keen on counting on the plastic axle tube to keep things tight, I'm thinking some toobs might be the solution since it would give me some metal to fasten to as well as the strength ascpect they were designed for. Until then, any suggestions?

try blue loctite and/or CA glue on your screw or a bigger 4mm screw might fit.

Cases are only $10 or so? I might not be a bad idea to just get new ones.

I did the same thing recently on my axle cases. Larger screws would work as a bandaid. New axle cases would solve the problem. Or... you could get toobs and have rock-solid axles. I'll be running toobs in all my ax10 axles (at least the fronts) from now on.

You need the Gunner beef tubes! They work great. Look in the vender section. "thumbsup" Kcjones is selling them. It will be stronger and you dont need to buy a new axle housing.

Yeah, Gunnar toobs are next on the list for sure. I had some larger coarse thread screws that I cut down to size, there nice and tight now, it will work for awhile.

Yeah I did that too, they will work for a while. Just remember that is a weak point. What C's do you have?

Venom aluminum, eBay 5 bucks. Not the best but better than stock.

M3 heli-coil is how I fixed my stripped out holes.

Do not use blue loc-tite. It melts plastic.

Super glue is a temp fix (comp situation, no spares)

Only 3 perm fixes, new housings (they are like $5-10), change to larger dia screws, or put some toobs in it.
