Smile ax10 setups

I have an axial ax10 that is pretty much stock and i was wondering what is the best way to mount the shocks and upper and lower links. Like what hole to put them in.

I'm using all the stock locations on my AX - outermost holes for all 3.

- 4" axial aluminum comp shocks
- lower links inboarded using TCS delrin skid
- rear uppers 4-linked using bender axle plate

For a stock chassis, it performs suprisingly well.

Shocks in the stock locations. Uppers in the front are in the furthest to the middle, rears and furthest outward. lowers are stock fronts in the outer holes, and the rears are the axial bent links in the furthest inner holes.

it keeps my drive shafts just where i want em to be.

I just changed mine, in fact. Moved them ALL to the innermost holes, and I really love it. Slightly shortened the wheelbase while lifting the chassis. It wheels a heckuva lot better now. The only other real upgrades i have on the car at this exact moment are Rover white dots and wheel weights in the fronts.

By moving the uppers outward and he lowers inward it will rotate the diff and change the shaft angle. the other thing to do would be to add spacers to the upper links evenlyand it will tilt the diff

Check out the For Sale section and you can usually find a used AX-10 aftermarket chassis that gives you more options for upper and lower link mounting points. They are usually a lot more narrow and better designed especially with lower links being triangulated on a delrin skid. Easy bolt on install...probably 15-20 minutes.

Not to mention most competition chassis such as the Incision or Slingshot or Wedge or GC3A or SWX are pretty common upgrades as well. Best upgrade I've done on mine!

Next to the Losi CC 4" shocks and Rovers...loving them!
