If you're looking at buying batteries, I'd strongly suggest looking at lipos. They give a lot more punch than nimh packs, plus they are smaller and lighter. I upgraded from stickpacks to saddle packs and finally to lipos all within about 3 months. Goin straight to lipo could have saved me over $50.

If you're interested in runtimes, I'm getting 40-50 min on a charge on my 1300mah packs - thats with a 35T motor, 14t pinion, and truck weighing in just over 5.5lbs

For my crawlers, I use the HS-7954SH servo. It has 333 oz in of torque at 6.0 Volts, but can do 403 oz in of torque at 7.4 Volts. Plus, they are cheaper than many others out there.

I really like my Futaba S9157's. I have 5 so far, and not one trouble with any of them. 425oz-in @ 6V.

thats what I have been looking at.... it seems they are overlooked and hobbico is prefered.... why?

I personally like JR servos, they are the best out there. I use the DS8911HV. It dos Torque: 470 oz-in Speed: .12 sec/60°. If fast and powerful. Like any thing else you pay more for the best.

I am running 4 Hitec hs-7955tg and it has yet skipped a beat for me... I have stripped plenty of metal gear servos already but with these I havn't yet.

Aggie01 02-02-2011 11:17 PM

7950th with cc bec set to 7.4v = 486 oz/in

nissan_driver24 02-02-2011 11:36 PM

haha posting your servo is like posting how big your @$#% is ... I ment ego :)

Natedog 02-02-2011 11:58 PM

Hitec HS985MG....cheaper and still good, may not need BEC either.
