VP hurst dig servo I am currently using the axial ae-2 servo to control the dig unit on my ax10. I want to switch to a mini/micro servo, what should i use? I was thinking a hitec HS-5085MG |
I haven't tried a mini with mine, but here's what VP says on their site. Hurtz Shifter lever action give a mechanical advantage for the servo of 2.5 to 1 ratio. allowing a standard servo to man handle the shifting demands needed in competition crawling. Total shifter travel needed to shift to all three positions is .73 inches. Mini Servo Mount now avalable ** Regular servo mount can use a HITEC HS-5625MG, HS-645MG, or Futaba S3305. ** MINI mounts can run a HITEC HS-225MG. ** Rene B. recomends a HITEC HS-5245MG, this one allows you to run both radios in all modes. |
I run a futaba S3102 micro on mine. It has never missed a beat. |
I've been running a spektrum s200 for a while now since I burned up the AS-2 (not with the dig), but I've been seriously considering going to a hitec 225 just for space savings. |
I use the Hitec 225 on mine and it works great. |
I have a Hitec 225 on mine. It's been working great for over a year now"thumbsup" |
I think the hitec 225 is going to be the one to use. Has anyone made a custom mini servo mount? |
I've also had good luck with the 225. For $10 the VP mini mount is a pretty good price. |

I ended up getting a hitec HS-85MG and making a bracket for it http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5012/...372c7f1116.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5220/...6dc69b4be9.jpg |
Been using the Hitec 225MG and haven't had a single ussue. |
Personally I think you should sell me that dig and the driveshafts since you won't need them in your XR anyways "thumbsup" |
Hmmmmmmm let me think............no. Get your own dig, I just made a new plate, but i will help you install yours if you want. |
OK fine I will wait and buy my own, I've got some major shock tuning to do before a dig anyways. Are you planning on heading out to the course this weekend? |
