Question CVDs

So I picked up some Axial CVDs to replace the stock front dogbones, which were bent. Was thinking about the MIP CVDs, but it seemed there was a lot of negatives (poor materials, small radius, heavy, etc) with them. However these Axial CVDs arent that great (I'm used to dealing with 8th scale CVDs), and seem kinda like junk.

Are there any other option other than the 150+ Super 300 CVDs? A mid-range option? I should say I did searching and all and didn't come up with anything, so why I posed the question.

Has anyone tried to use say Losi XXX-T or Associated T4 (or other) CVDs?

Damn, that reminds me....I did this mod on the lathe awhile back and forgot all about it. I still have the parts in a box on my bench at home

Thanks for reminding me Better add that to Evernote now before I forget again.

I'd prefer not to keep replacing dogbones either.

Anyone know if the http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ve-Shaft-Set-2 will fit or not?

And where do you get EGRESSor CVDs from Gatecreeper?

EGRESSOR is in the vendor section. Search for post started by him and you'll find his CVD's. His CVD's aren't cheap, and you have to wait for shipping from Germany. If you can do it just bite the bullet and get some 300's.

I wouldn't think that the losi's would fit, especially since the stubs are so much different.

May have to... just surprised there isn't a mid-level option around.

There is a mid level, you bought them.

Cheap- 3 racing $10-$15
Mid - axial/mip 3$30-$40
expensive- egressor/super 300's $100-$150

you could always get some gunner pins to upgrade your existing axials.

i have the axial CVD's and only replaced there pins once in a year and a half....they were in my tuber the tigress that weighed in at almost 8 pounds with 1 pound tire/wheel/weight combo at each corner ....it took me over a year to bust the stock pins, just before i busted one i had the music wire pins a vendor here made.... " gunner " so when one did break i had replacements on hand.........bob

highlucks got it, I run MIP CVD's in my AX10, I was breaking pins every trip out, I got some A1 pins from gunnar and I drive it harder then ever and havn't had to replace a pin in many many months.
hope you find something that works for you and makes you happy with your rig, good luck.
