I swear by this setup....and sorry, I have no more skids for sale. I used to run EEM...that one was quite good. You can see it clearly here... and here... Also, if you run rear steer with dual BTA..like my black model, you can drop the shock location in the rear to here. Last edited by KC_JoNeS; 03-09-2011 at 01:02 AM. |

I haven't modelled the long link option yet ( modelling consists of drinking straws on the spare chassis) but suspect it's the best way to go. I still think that the razors open everything up and unfortunately I'm still waiting for them to arrive from the US. The extra half inch in height that they offer will give the option to pull the skid up. Belly height is key to getting the chassis to work really, really well - it does everything else very well indeed - it just catches on some pull-overs, that's all! Like the Avatar - those toes look like a Xenopus too! | |

I had a play with link locations last night also. Due to my short shocks in the front, I am on hole 1, front links are on 2 (but I know these are too short already). Rears are 2/2 again, a function of shock length and placement of cross bars on the top. Link lnegth is fine on the rear with 1 and a bit diameters of articulation. My biggie is squashing electronics in Last edited by stewbaru; 03-10-2011 at 05:24 PM. |

I have the esc and receiver on a plate between the front links Stew - it doesn't affect the articulation at all and is fully protected by the hood. I use really small 800 size lipos, only one at a time and that sits on the STRC Servo/Battery plate no problem. I've mirrored the transmission, kept the motor on the Left. I don't run a separate BEC as I find that the built in Rooster one is sufficient. I've had the esc / receiver on the rear axle but felt that it was unprotected. I also made a Lexan plate and fitted it between the upper an lower cross members - in what could be thought of as the roof void - a Spektrum receiver fits in the space and weights very little - I suspect that a CC BEC would fit there too. I tok it out - but only because I found that it was fine between the upper front links - it had very little influence on CoG. The above may be a little more difficult if you're using the bent lowers as your upper links - I've not tried that yet. |

| Dash, My electrics are in the roof void as well, on a small piece of Polycarb, forward of the spur gear. Problem is I am running a MMP esc and the capacitors are taller than the top brace (and chassis rail) you can just see this in my pic. My front uppers are over triangulated and an electronics plate there looks very untidy. I am considering moving the ESC to the inside side plate above the motor (HH12T cobalt) but haven't got around to it yet. I am using a CC BEC, the 7954 mandates it. Dioptric, thats a very clean build, nice work. Last edited by stewbaru; 03-10-2011 at 05:26 PM. |
