close, no rub. That is steel brake line. It is not very strong we need to use something better. The concept works and that is what it was for.

and the big pose shot with new paint jobs and parts... The steering angle is much better than stock dog bone, shaved cup or axial CVD.

Can you post up some top down pics showing the track width difference while running the same wheels from to back?

Thanks for all the pics. i'm wondering if the longer tubes will work with AX knuckles and C's. i kind of would like to use my felsenfest knuckles and weights... Not too sure how the XR uni's fit with them though.

I have this picture from my phone, I was curious also.
This was as far as I got. Just mocked it up and saw it was not going to go. If someone was willing to put in the time maybe it could be rigged to work. In the end i think you will get more steering out of the xr parts.

I also cut and welded the shaft on that thing too. Just to do it, I only made the one. It would be easier and just as good to cut and grind the end. no need to weld it.

is this an AX10 C-hub and a steering knuckle with an XR universal?

is the obvious answer to use both the xr hub and knuckle and fit them to the AX10 axle? At that point it seems like the only issue is connecting the C-hub to the axle and keeping it there.

if you have beef tubes you'll have a solid base to connect to.

That was just to show that AX10 parts would NOT work with xr axles.

If you look back a couple posts you can see that i used Kc Jones Longer BEEF TOOOBS and XR parts to make it all work.

would help if I read the whole thread lol.

I didn't read anywhere why you had to go with the longer tubes, is there no way or cutting the axles and grinding a flat spot??

I'm looking at the axles here

it looks possible, no?

I didn't have to use the longer tubes, but the longer toobs make it so easy. All I had to do was drill and tap a couple holes to mount them in the housing. Then all the rest bolted right up.

I wanted it wider for the extra room for more steering and the stability.

You can easily cut grind the xr axles.

For the flat spot, grind only a little at a time until it fits, dont go to far or the axle will spin in the locker.

Looking good and it's making sense with the longer tubes now

Quit making me want a pair now any way to mill the ends flat on a mill and shorten the ends and use it with the stock knuckles aka "I'm broke and own a CNC mill" solution

It's apparent that the AX C's z& knocks can't accommodate the XR axle. Even if you machined the bearing pockets deeper, there wouldn't be sufficient material remaining.

Added some steering. I made a copy of the Vp zero ackerman steering arm. Even with the added width it now really rubs on the servo, hard at full lock. I can deal with that later.

another

Going to run it tomorrow and see how much better it feels. It was like turning a dump truck with the way it was.
Gotta shave the double shear arms off too.
