| CW Crawlers Rocker chassis NEW FROM CW CRAWLERS Rocker AX10 chassis. Machined from .090" thick 6061-T6 aluminum this chassis is ready for some action on the rocks. A direct drop in to an AX10 skid plate, the car requires longer upper links and is recommended with 4-linking. The chassis has a sanded aluminum finish, no aodizing or powder coating. I just finished overhauling my car so here's how mine is setup. I am running a prototype textured finish chassis and narrowed skid but mechanically its all the same. On a regular AX10 skid the upper links can go inside or outside the chassis. It is possible to run a narrower skid plate with the chassis to improve performance in narrow spots. I have been able to shave .7" off my skid and still had enough room inside to fit my motor with a little room to spare. If you are interested in a narrower skid shoot me a PM and I will consider making some up if the demand is there Vendor thread: CW Crawlers Rocker chassis *CLOSEOUT SALE* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OtFO...el_video_title [Ignore the date at the end] The car shown had no wheel weights, no DIG unit and the rear was underdriven. Total car weight as of filming, hare over 4 LBS If you got any questions on the chassis feel free to ask me. Last edited by Crawling Calvin; 03-06-2011 at 01:59 PM. |

I believe it's his lowers that are not yet installed. I'm interested in more info on that upper shock mount....is it a driveshaft yoke? Also do you plan on running a dig in there? Looks good Calvin. Glad to see you got your star and you're getting these out. More options is always a good thing. |

Gotcha, I think I saw in his build thread that they are custom machined shock mounts to eliminate binding.

@ Highlucks: Yes I never got the front installed, I had just finished going through the car checking rod ends and stuff before I ship it ahead on a trip of mine. Last thing I want is to drive for 2 mins and "rod end yanks" @ Juan: Thanks Yes it is, and for the record in testing it was NOT run, it is actually milled from 6061 aluminum and once I get some tooling in I should have the silly things up in a few days. No dig, yet. I am debating one though as it would make driving some lines a LOT easier but as usual I just like to see what the car can do on its own without any "cheating" methods. Time to go update the build thread a lil |

Since I got sick and tired of my cheesy glue-on rims, I decided to finally dig that Delrin up from a while ago and throw it into the mill at shop and make me some rims . Its a simple design but hey, I like it. Total weight is darn light, I will weigh them later. In the mean time i need to design up some rings |

Heheheh yep my teacher is from Norway so I joked "See its Norway in winter " aaah and guess who got stuck cleaning the machine out [no it was all needed!] Juan: Yep I use GibbsCam at the adult school I go, right now, for the sake of speed, I just import an Autocad DXF file but I am getting better and better at Gibbs. Ive touched MasterCam a little but I didn't exactly like it, heck my church is like 5 buildings down from Gibbs (no joke ) |

Love the wheels, are you planning on making them for the masses?

May, well see. I have gone so far to, jokingly, think of having the CW Crawlers rig with rims and stuff by me but well see. Right now I am focusing on getting my mill's Y axis cable (praying) issue fixed. They were really easy to run though, which was nice |

Sweet, if they are easy to run you should test them and see how they hold up. Then do a production run |

On a stock skid, yes. On a narrower one, good question. It is a tight fit for a regular motor but it can be done. I think with a little creativity a puller could be worked in the chassis. The measurements of the opening [at its max] is: 2.425" wide 1.55" high |
