my new shocks came in for this rig today, aswell as some good new, the top of the shock mounts ising a ball stud, and the set came with 4 3mm ball studs, which means no rod-end-mod, so my rig will be lower then it is now i'm back where I want to be, should be good. i'll try to get some more pics later, if I get to installing them.

these 3racing shocks look awesome, and they were only about $4 more then the stock ones I bought

so the body sits nice and low, just as I wanted, but the battery had to move. the body was sitting on the battery before being fully seated on the body posts. the servo is now super close to the body, I hope this is something I can live with, so far it seems like it wont be a huge problem.

I cut and bent another battery mount, and here is where it puts the battery. i'm not a huge fan of it, but I think it'll have to do.

I wanted to go with a bodied rig the help lower the COG, so mounting the battery here kinda bugs me.

and a pic of the servo clearance.

Servo/body clearance should be fine, because you have a single body mount at the front the body should pivot with the axle as it articulates.

No luck with my battery mounting suggestion?

it doesn't show well in the pics, but the rear lower links are now parrallel to the skid the fronts arn't since there isn't as much as a bend to them, I bent them myself.

thast what I figured about the body mount, should do well.
I did look into/try your battery mount idea, but since the chassis is so low profile the driveshaft is "right there!" lol.

I do agree, they are nice looking. I did find mounting them upside down helped with the leaking but not 100percent. I don't remember which length I bought since I've them limited for a longtime now but I will be watching how your shorter versions hold up. I found that leaving them longer really allowed the shaft to move about, possibly causing havoc to the O-rings and maybe more leaking.

I was going to mount them upside down but since they are made for a ball stud on one end it can't be done, I could mod them like I did the stock mini shocks and out a 3mm rod end on both end's but I really wanted my rig to be lower so this worked out ok, the only thing I think may be an issue is the springs are very soft, I might have to look into mini LST springs like murderface suggested.

Yeah, I would pull my hair out if I had to wait too long to run my favorite rig of the batch.

would Traxxas Revo style shocks or shocks for an on-road car work. I know Gunnar used the Traxxas GTR's I think on his Delrin build [low-profile chassis like yours] so its a thought

2 weeks is tough, Ive gone all this week without a crawler, at least tomorrow ill be re-united with it in Florida

Those shocks look and sound good. Should keep the front end down for sure. How soft(or stiff) are those springs? are they enough right out of the box?
