Torque Twist? What seems to be the best chassis, shock, spring, or general setup, that takes care of torque twist on the scorpion the best? |
Try this thread might be able to answer most if not all of your ?'s"thumbsup" http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showt...t=torque+twist |
well i have the gc3a chassis by gatekeeper designs, big bores, and losi gold springs 35 wt oil and there is no torque twist to speak off:mrgreen: |
I had the same problem. I changed to a underground crawlers fastback chassis and changed to over and under drive gears. that was the best mod to my crawler. You can also use 50wt shock oil in front and 60wt in left rear and 45wt in right rear to help with torque twist. |
I run a GC3A which has little to no TT to speak of, but even with my AX10 (stock TVP set-up) I was able to get rid of most of the TT. Just look around at some of the better working chassis and try and copy the link geometry as close as you can. Since shocks were brought up, I ran 40wgt in my fronts, 45 and 50 in the rears and still have left my shocks like that on my GC3A and I'm sticking with it for now. |
My son has a stock chassis and I got rid of almost all of it by a custom 4 link, and wheel weights. The cheater way to get rid of it is under or over drive gears :-) I recommend them for sure! BUT get rid of all you can the otherways first. |
Mirror the tranny and 4 link. As far as spring weights and shock oil, when you go changing that around, it screws with overall handling in other situations, potentially making problems worse somewhere else. |
Thamks guys. Ive played around with it alot, but havent gotten rid of all of the twist yet It does much better than stock, but still far from a competitive nature. |
With stock chassis 4 link help out alot. sorry pic of me frog http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/pictu...ictureid=19104 also flipped tranny not mirro but simply turned it around and weighted front wheels http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/pictu...ictureid=18518 |
good idea on putting those weights in the stock wheels, havent seen that before, probably not the first time though... |
A 4-link setup but you can't take allof the torque twist out. even my losi comp has some. |
The single biggest change I made that helped torque twist was converting my oem shocks to a droop setup and used 100wt oil.. Droop isn't for everyone but I love it. I have the 4 link plate shown above.. Way back when I bought it TCS stated that placing the left link on the top and right link underneath the plate reduced torque twist.. Can anyone verify this? I can't tell enough one way or the other so I didn't know if matters. |
