| that explains it all... I am a big fan of the plastic shafts partly for cost and ease of use. I think I need to make some locking rings to keep the driveshafts on the car. |

[QUOTE=DioptricStraw;3060098]Yeah 2.4 is a MUST. I had an old FM radio, that lasted through 1 dead car...run over after it went nuts and was gone.... I dont know if anyone has had that happen and hope it doesn't, its heartbreaking and heart stopping. That car was totaled, all I saved was some parts from the rear suspension rear wheels and most of the electronics. I saw it happen with a 50 size heli once - on a full tank running about 40% nitro - it drove itself into the ground from about 200 feet - I've never seen grown men dive under a truck so fast in my life. It left a big hole and there was nothing left at all! |

The PD's getting a Torquemaster so shafts are of interest to me at the moment. Not sure whether to go 35T or 45T yet. Would like to stay with 3Racing as they've done well for me but I suspect that I may need something stronger - We'll see - I'll probably run them and snap them for the price. The rocks were quiet today, apparently there was a wedding on! | |

Any chance you are heading to the course this weekend, I'll be up on Sunday if your going. I would bring my truck but I finally gave up on the MIP's and 3Racing shafts. I think I may actually go for a set of super 300's. If I can manage to keep some pins in the CVD's and set screws tight in my shafts I may (slight chance) do some crawling but not likely since tomorrow is my daughters actually b-day party so I won't have much time to wrench.

Got the Junfac Shafts today! But there is an issue, like an idiot I didn't measure the length I needed for the rear and it is long enough but the male end only goes into the female end about 4mm...... Looks like I am going to be making another order soon, that's what i get for rushing and also for putting the trans that far forward. |

Oops, when you place your next order get the long shaft for the CC-01. you get a very long female section with that one. I run it on my frog shot with a long male section. My rear drive shaft is close to 140mm |

140mm that's long! I bet you friends with all the ladies. My rear is around 130mm Got the used DH pro comps from a member on here today. The outer rings were de-anodized and in rough shape so i gave them a couple of coats of paint to try and keep the color scheme going. I know the outer ring look like a bad paint finish but its in part to the rashed up rings. Picture time!! |

| Yeah the frogettes love it. I think you rings look good, the rash is hardly noticeable. When you get your new shafts from junfac. Take the time to drill and tap the grub screws to M4. If you only want to tap one end you can do this to the trans end. Full details here. . Last edited by Highlucks; 05-03-2011 at 10:04 PM. |

I will have to try the shaft mod. After some backyard crawling i decided it need new springs, these are too stiff. Thinking about getting some traxxas 2660 and 2662. I think they are the big bores, so my questions are, are these good, and if i get the mini-t springs and jeepindoug cups will i have a winning combo? Front or rear mini t springs? I am hoping if I do this that i will be able to get some more clocking out of my front, I also need to get some CVD's... I hope the LHS gets some soon. |

I think I have found a solution, for now at least(and it was free). I will test this tomorrow and see how well it works. i was going through my spare parts trying to find springs that would fit and found some medium TCS internal springs for the ax10 shocks. There is no option of mounting them internal because of the bladder so i got to thinking and EUREKA it came to me like that. So here is what i did. Parts- TCS internal ax10 shock springs (medium) and some old wheel nuts that dont hold. The nuts with the flange fit sooooo nice in the spring and hold it centered. Rears Fronts They feel much softer now, testing tomorrow. midnight is to late to test....sleeping needs to happen. |

Man, that is creative ! That is the best way to reuse damaged axle nuts I've seen. Can't wait to see performance of it. I have been still chassing some springs for the Rustler's. I did do a little modification on the shocks. Changed the pistons to 3 hole valve. May need a little heavier oil though. Softened up. Need some additional weight on the axles. Waiting on my Dh's and SLW's to arrive friday. then will see what happens. |

After some testing today (before it rained) I got a chance to try the new spring, they are much better than the traxxas ones. Hopefully I will get to try them out at the LHS tomorrow. |

I'll see you there tomorrow, can't wait to see one of these Poison Darts in person. What time are you heading up there? I was aiming for first thing because I have some things to double check before I run the truck.
