Arrow "The official Tuolumne County Poison Dart"

It is finally here. I picked it up this morning. It got past the California Department of Agriculture VIA the USPS. Thank you Casey ! This thread build will probably be one of the slowest in RCCRAWLER history. I will be taking this to the COMP level. I as finances allow.
I have started the build Prior to the arrival of the Mysterious and elusive Purple and white Tuolumne County Poison Dart. I will hopefully post pictures later today. I was just so excited that it arrived. I just wanted someone or anyone to listen. ITS HERE ! ITS HERE !

Finally, my son gave me a little Dad time to do some assembly tonight. He allowed just enough time to put the lowers together and the " Torso " together. Working on getting some measurments to manufacture the upper links out of Delrin. I hope I will get a little more time this weekend to get them put together.

Anyone else see the similarities

Just a small up date received a used stock transmission today. Got it pretty cheap. Had all new Robinson gears and new bearings waiting for install. Disassembled / reassembled cleaned it all up nice and pretty. Had to order up Aluminum spacers and screws to complete assembly properly.
As I said early on this will be a slow build. I still have not yet made my upper links. Still trying to get the length and geometry right. Spent most of the day at my buddies shop setting up 2 SCCA cars for Laguna Seca end of the month.

There is not enough time in the day.

Those are the Traxxas Rustler's . These are the factory plastic ones. I am unsure of the springs. They may have to be softened up. They are the perfect length. If they work out as well as I hope. Traxxas makes pretty Aluminums just like the Big Bores.

All right finally got a chance to set up and manufacture the front and rear upper links out of Delrin. Manufacture what a joke, I took my Snap on drill, a drill bit and went to my little vise.
I think they are about right. level to the ground in the rear. The same in the front but still allowed for enough caster. I have to admit I took a little longer on the front due to Casey's BTA link. I have not done a BTA before this build.
I am still unsure about the springs on the shocks though. I contacted Traxxas tech. service to find out the rate on them. I was told 2.4 - 2.8 Lbs. I will mess with the valving next to see if I can soften it up a little. May need some 3 valve plungers. For another time, here are a few photos. Any and all comments wanted and probably needed. LOL !

This is looking real good. My parts bin is building up now - looking worrying like yours re: axles. I think that it may well become my first BTA build too.

I did spend a lot of time on the BTA set up, when I made the upper links. Between getting the caster high enough and keeping the clearence off of the shock spring mounts. I feel I have it pretty well set, only getting the new servo and installing will tell the truth.

Thank you, all for the encouragment and the kind words.
