| The " First German Poison Dart"
Hi. Just wanted to show you some pics of my PD. Don't look at the pumpkin, I hate him, my wife loves him = I love my wife, so he's still here And don't look at the wheels, the new ones are on the way... I'd like to read your comments and suggestions to make it better. Thanks. Blader |

Looking good. Where are you in Germany? I'll be there in a couple of months for a couple of years so I need to find some good crawler spots.

Thanks boys. I'm living near Frankfurt/Main. Here's not a real crawler paradise. Where in Germany are you going to live, PowerCrazy? Specs? Ok. Axles with UD and OD gears. beeftoobs f + r 3racing shafts selfmade knuckles with weight system and 0 Ackermann steering BTA link from KC Jones adjustable caster angle (so complete bta steering is not possible yet) HS 7954 servo with Losi servo horn BigBore Alu shocks with Mini-T springs and selfmade rod end caps and Doug's spring retainers selfmade "d-mount" rear selfmade shock stands(? sorry, don't know the english word..) rear MIP shafts Robitronic Crawler ESC ( fat but fine! ) with 17,5T brushless motor Turnigy Nanotech 1300mAh batteries and so on.... I've thought about dyeing the other white delrin parts black, but I don't know how deep the black colour will enter the delrin. If it scratches over rough surfaces and becomes white again...dyeing will become a never ending story... haven't got a contract with RIT Do you think it will work? |

I must say that black from these pictures is unbelievable. It is so dark and deep in color, I would say yes on good penetration. But, I am no expert on dying Delrin. I keep coming back and looking at it. "The First Black German Poison Dart".

Read it as a joke : i liked Germany because it's a clean country (among other things - that is not a joke, it's the kind of place i would live in and the only country in Europe i would leave my countr for), but i love my country as i can find (almost anytime) a dirty place to crawl (please replace dirty with a place where people dump cement, concrete and other "rocky" stuff). I live 120km away from the closest mountain. Blader, are you considering a dig unit ? |

Bamberg is a nice area. You will find some spots, ask in http://www.scalecrawler.de/index.php?page=Index forum, the guys are very helpful. @jimmyshor, I'm far away from Bavaria, 20kms or so, but in the north. The mountains with fine crawler spots are about 100kms or more away... Where in Bavaria will you go? You too can search in the german forum for good spots. I can help you to find something, if you want. Tests, yes, in my garden with no rocks but stones and little steps, not very exciting. The stairs to my house PD does very well No, with this nearly finished PD I've not been onto the rocks yet. You'll get some pics if I did!! |

Yeeeeaaah Chris, and if I continue like that, ma GPD will swim, dive and fly... Go ahead!! You're right, Germany is clean...if you close at least one eye.... well, if you compare it with other countries, it's right. I also love my country!! Sure!! No DIG !! I don't do comps, so I don't need one. And in the class I would drive if I drived comps, I don't need one too. Talking about the black: I did alot of work with dyeing the parts, trying 2 powders which where junk, but other peoples wrote it would work. Bad!! Ordered RIT in UK, cooked the parts for 1 1/2 hours und let them take a bath in that black juice for another 12 hours. Now the black is nearly perfect. You make me thinking about BGPD....hummmm... should I ?? Only 12 screws... I'll think about it... |

Thanks guys! Your comments are very valuable for me, I appreciate them. Now that I know that all angles and length are ok, I can make the front upperlinks in black delrin too and change some other parts into black ones. The new wheels will arrive soon, I hope, and they will give him another sensational look. You will see. And then, be careful and don't come too close...it bites!!! Blader |

Murdered out frogger looks cool man. It may just be the photos but it kind of looks like you have the front links on back to front. The longer flat portion of the link should be at the chassis side.

For your """c) "pattented" next Poison Dart top panel "enclosure" """, which is very usefull because you must not always cut the zip ties if you want to work at the car, I can tell you that I use neither straps nor zip ties. Look at my pics!! The panels are held by "Bladers patented air hooks". Your so funny, I had done the same thing on "OG FROGGER" original panels. So I guess I'll see you at the patend office. Bring your Lawyer. |
