This new Ultralite D-Mount in aluminum is a sweet piece. The delrin D-Mount has never failed me but added strength at a .3g increase... well I can handle that. Thanks, Duuuuuuude!

I plan on running the same chassis. Even though I drove this car for years I'm still learning how to drive it.

Looks like body and panel dims aka lack thereof have changed, and some careful wording of what is a cleared gate and what is not. Basically, I can run any body as long as it isn't smaller that 8x3x3, panels are no longer measured and you can no longer straddle for progress. Anything else? Or do you Aussie fckers run different angry 'roo rules?

We are still running the 2015 rules, probably because of the different weather and season start times. We run a calendar year season so the rules were probably not posted when we started. 317mm bodies for sporty, we still need to run panels in pro and we can still straddle a gate.

I was not aware that the straddle had been removed. Which IMO is silly as it gives the new folk even less drive time on a comp day.

Where/How does it say Straddles were removed?

1.10 Progress
bonus (2
progress point):
shall be awarded to drivers for each gate after it has been

cleared during the attempt of a course. All gate penalties are assessed and given before a progress bonus is
awarded. Progress is awarded when during the same attempt and in the intended course direction at least one
front and one rear tire passes completely through the gate. To receive the progress bonus without a gate
penalty, all four tires must pass completely through the gate during the same attempt and
in the intended course direction

Good to see ya coming back Helhedded ..... nice seeing long time veterans dusting things off

Motors rebuilt and heading your way Ashton, the one problem motor had overheated and slung the solder off the comm. I just resoldered it with some high temp silver filler. Your pair is an early one, we started brazing the comm shortly after launching the Crawlmaster brand line. Still a solid motor set though!

It feels good to be back.

I was a bit confused. I found an old post by Fishy about how the straddle wording was removed. But HEY that was post was back from 2012. I figured I would start back when I dropped off to catch up.

Nothing has changed, you still get progress with two tars through ...it just isn't called a straddle in the rule book. It's referred to as a gate penalty because not all 4 tars made it through cleanly.

Thanks John and yeah those 16t Crawlmaster motors are great. They comped all across the U.S. back in the olden days

Tested and ready for Disney, Oklahoma. I'm trying something new up front for foams. It's a prototype closed cell inner built for a 6" tall tire, and 5.25 medium tuning ring surrounding that. So far I like it. It's pretty funky and leaves a bit of air space in the tire. The RCBROS splined tubes are cool. Good stuff.

A -47 out of a possible -48 landed me in second place after a tiebreaker with Chadw30 at the 2016 Crawlapalooza. The rig drove great and I had a blast competing again.

Great effort man, So cool to see two old stall warts topping the podium.

I bet you found yourself moving much freer on the rocks too.
