Default Evil Crawler Designs' first shafty chassis.

I've been planning this chassis for a while. Until now, I just didn't have a test dummy to donate their rig to the cause. Well, I finally convince Classic GMJunkie to strip down his Sportsman shafty and do the beta testing on this one.

Hers what I came up with.

Mounted w/ motor, trans, etc mounted:

Here's the skid.

Stay tuned. I'll be announcing a giveaway along with pricing and how to purchas your own.

Looks great. Simple and clean. Like the side plate supports. Good to see several chassis coming back for the AX10.

Front axle plate looks good too. I made a front servo/4link/electronic plate last week out of carbon fiber along those lines as well. Working out good.

Love the raked skid. Its a bit surprising that it hasn't already been widely used. Looking forward to seeing how it does.

The front axle plate isn't my design, but he wanted to have the battery axle mount, and the one I had built was a center mount for the servo.

I was thinking the same thing. Guess the MOA rigs started it and made a full circle back to shafty setups.

Thanks guys. Haven't had a chance for running it yet, but my initial impressin of it is that it went together extremely easily.

I've set up almost all of my rigs so that the rear sat higher. It just seemed to be to be an obvious advantage. Flat bottoms are for riverboats.

Hey Twin, that's a nice looking Sporty chassis, is this something you'll be selling in the future?

Yes. I'm in the process of tweaking my rear links and 4-link/ servo plates. Then I'll get a thread up in the vendors section.

I'm still up in the air on the bodiless. I don't care for the extra weight it the topper on a bodied chassis. I'd rather do a separate bodiless chassis option.

Hi, just a few questions about the chassis, will it fit a Losi night crawler transmission? When is it available? Will you ship to Australia?
Thanks in advance

I have not had a chance to try the chassis with a Losi transmission (LNC or LCC). I'm actually hoping to find somebody to let me do some testing with their truck.

As for international shipping, I'm definitely willing to work with customers with that.

Looks awesome! Can't wait to see more on it. I like the idea of a bodied and bodiless options.

Update. We had the test truck at a competition over the weekend, and I got to drive it for a while, testing its climbing, sidehilling, breakover, turning on sidehill, etc...

I have to say that this thing really works well. I was able to pull every line with it that I could with my own comp rig. Any concerns I had about the high rake of the skid are gone. It just plain works. Unfortunately, my wife needed our camera to take pics of the kids (they were in a Christmas program and then had a lunch with Santa afterward), so I only got some cell phone pics of the truck in action and only one actually turned out decent.

I'll be working on finalizing the rear links and link plates today and tomorrow, and then I will get pricing together along with a giveaway.

Same here. The mini BJ has a similar setup and it works nicely.

This chassis looks like a winner! Nice work Evil.
