I'm guessing 10.75" actual track width front. 10.5" rear.

10.75 up front.... doubt it...

I want an outside tire to outside tire measurement. I'm guessing 11 1/8" . Just trying to gauge what these xr10 conversions with some knuckle weight comes out to.

perhaps the terminology gets skewed from driver to driver, but for me the track width has always been from tire to tire. At least that's what I'm worried about the most.

Hello,

Very interesting construction very, as usual

But I am intrigued by your choice for the rear upper link mounts. It is very high compared to the axle, doesn't that move the roll center of the axle too much upwards?

For 1:1 purposes, it is measured from wheel centerline to centerline, which is obviously a PITA on an rc.

Axle track - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I prefer a measurement from outside of wheel face because it is more accurate a surface to measure from. Weight, foam , and tire pooch all skew the measurement otherwise.

But the wheel face isn't what hits gates.

Thanks for all the comments guys! I'll grab those measurements when I get home Saturday. I'll guess the front is 11" and the rear is 10.5"

The Rear: 10 3/8"

Thanks! The XR mod is really the only way to go with this truck. Looking back on my ax10 builds, aside being plagued by electronic issues, the part of the truck I really hated was the front axle. It was too narrow and the tires were always in the links/shocks, didn't allow for any easy way to add castor, and the front link mounts have always been a PITA.

I think I've fixed all of these issues.

I'm still learning this truck so I can't full answer this question. What I can say is with the axle laid back so far, the separation isn't as great as if it where standing straight up. Though, this prolly doesn't count.

See you this Saturday T.C.
We should have four Sporty's there again. Two with the front XR10 mod, yours and Cody's. Alex bought the parts to make his sporty have the XR10 mod also. He just didn't get it installed before the comp. I guess I'll be the only one with stock width and 300's

Oh and TC... nice job on the track width. I was expecting it to be wider. Do you have any side shots showing the belly clearance?
