Default (New questions) 2-14 Need some help with my new gatekeeper

OK so I got a gatekeeper chassis and I was putting it together today but when I went to put on the side plate next to the motor, the side plate sits against the spindle on the motor. Right now I have the stock 14t pinion on there. Would going to a smaller pinion allow the motor to move in just enough to clear the side plate? Or is there something else I can do?
Here a picture. Sorry about the best I could do.

Do you have the tranny mirrored?

I had a similar issue on my wedge. I ended up cutting the motor shaft. I can't tell from the picture if it's rubbing the pinion also if it is, cutting the shaft will not help.

Its just hitting the shaft. Its close to the pinion but not touching it. And I think its to the front. Its however the instructions say to do it. I'm at work now. Ill have to look when I get home.

Edit. Its to the back because my rear drivrshaft is twisted

Yea mirror it, I ran that chassis once, no problems putting it all together at all.

It was like this on the GC3A i bought for my friend. I just the shaft down a few mm. You won't trim off nearly enough to affect the way the pinion seats.

mirroring it made everything worse theside plate now hits the motor case and doesnt even come close to lining up

ive seen a few post here about some gc3a skids being drilled a little off. maybe you have one of these skids. if so i would either drill new holes on the other side or cut some of the motor shaft off.

OK so I got my gatekeeper together and almost done hooking everything up. Now I noticed I have a twisted drive shaft and I was wondering if anyone had a couple different recommendations. Also. Can anyone recommend a cheap lipo 2s and a charger?
