Vanquish isnt cheap. I have been trying really hard not to put alot of money into my rigs. That is why I have been building alot of my parts by hand. I like it alot. It is fun to see what I can dream up.

I have decided to go bodiless. Origionally i was going for Sportsman legal, then I realized that I don't comp and have not plans to comp soon, so Screw it.

That being said it was time to begin the adventure of creating my own chassis. (harder than it looks)

I would like to start by saying that I know that my frame is a bit rough and I would love to put some finishing touches on it if I wasn't so impatient. It is the first one had to see how it works.

I began by drawing it up and cutting out a template. Then I transfered it to aluminum and cut it out. Low buck style with a jig saw and shaped with metal files.

I think it came out pretty good. On to the pics body panel pics to come:

No body panel pics, but i have had it out for a few test runs. It did much better than before the custom chassis. Stripped a plastic servo horn (finally) and upgraded to a aluminum one, but that is about it. Action shots to come soon.

Here are some body panel shots and a few action shots on the rocks. This rig continues to impress me. I have been playing with shock position and this makes a huge difference. I have found that I prefer my rige with a lower ride height which lowers my COG.

Ha, I built that thing out of old parts laying around just to trade to the guy you must of bought it from. He had an ipod and Flip HD camera I gave my daughter for Xmas.

Looks like you're fixing it up nice.

Thanks. It would appear that all parties involved are happy.

The bugs are crazy cool!! I really like the homemade chassis. That's what I like about this hobby. People are making/building their own parts!! I see way too much "Instant Gratification" in many aspects of hobbies these days.

Thanks, I love making my own parts and agree Since this was my first attempt I am pleased with how it came out. It definitely improved the rigs abilities, and I made it for almost no money. Building my own parts is cheap and it is my own design. It is cool to see when something I dreamed up in my head actually works. I see alot of people with the same chassis and their rigs all look almost the same. No one has a rig that looks like mine. (Ugly or not)

Thanks for the support, but as you mentioned I didn't really care about this. I am running it bodiless now anyway so the bug is retired for the moment. I don't miss taking the body off and putting it back on every time I run at all. Bodiless is the way for me right now.

I have spent the last week working on the talon version 2. It is almost done. Just needs body panels and chassis supports. Once it is done I will post up some pics. I really like this one. It looks alot better and performs alot better too.
