Default AX10 Bug turned "The Talon"

I bought this AX10 used off of RCC. When received it had bone stock electronics, swx chassis, 3 link suspension, axial beadlocks (weight in front), integy 55 turn and pede trans.

It has since progressed to the following running equipment:

Custom "Talon" Chassis designed by me
Axial AE2 Speed Control
Fly Sky GT3B with Losi Kid Hack
cc BEC hardwired to the servo
all aluminum lower links (Custom cut and tapped bent rears)
Custom handmade 4 link mounts front and rear.
Axial 2.2 RockStars with custom aluminum comp rings on the outside.
New HB rovers all around ( White DOT in the front Blue in the rear)

Took the stickers off in prep of paint and went for a trail run at a local spot. Took a couple interesting pics.

Nice bugs guys. I took this weekend and painted the body over again. I was getting sick of how beat up it looked and wanted to try my hand at my first paint job. I think it went well. It will definitely be and experiment to see how well it will hold up being painted on the outside of the body.

Thanks, but you have to take that up with whoever made the mold for the lexan. It came to me molded that way.

Yesterday I was feeling creative and made a rear 4-link plate out of a piece of aluminum. I don't know why I hadn't done this earlier. The rear of my rig is much more stable. It is amazing. My three link had alot of slop and it is all gone. I will hoopefully post some pics of the link and test drive tonight.

Had some time yesterday to make another 4 link bracket for the front. The rear bracket is a little rough, but it does the job. I will most likely be making another one to replace it. Also took some pics of the bug body and how the paint is holding up. It was worth an experiment to try and paint on the outside, but I don't know that I would do it again.

Thanks man. I really liked it too, but the lexan got pretty beat up so I decided to change up the color. I wanted something bright because no one on here ever goes with bright colors. Most rigs I see are pretty dull.

Thanks, I love building my own stuff (It is much more rewarding when it works). It is amazing how cheap and easy it is.

In the process of making some new beadlock rings. Made the first 2 and was able to test them out tonight. They work very nicely. I will be posting a build thread in the wheels and tires section soon. They were made with a hand drill, hack saws, and metal files. All simple hand tools and some elbow grease. (Yes I know I can buy beadlocks just like this, but I enjoy making my own parts)

Let me know what ya think.

Nice I like the blue. I wish I wasnt so cheap and would step up the the vanquish aluminum rims. Oh well I will just have to settle for making my own parts. If that was my rig it would have alot more scratches on it thats for sure.

Not a trail rig for sure all made strictly just for the rocks to put it to the test.

Everything looks better with some rock rash on it. Sounds lik you just sunk some $$ into your truck. I am thinking about trying to fab up my own frame, but havent tried it yet.

I agree more for a comp type truck, but if you like the look and are willing to spend the money or time they would work on a trail truck too. It is all in what you like.
