Small start tonight. Hope to have it built by the weekend.... Maybe.... Hopefully....
Started "The Ringer" chassis. Needed four more rod ends. Put the metal gears in the trans. Ordered the wrong motor plate and need spacers for the motor plate to the trans. Still glad I got started, even with a few set backs, it's still fun to work on and I look forward to getting it on the rocks. I got side tracked from the crawler with my new commuter...

Good start, you'll be amazed at what this chassis will do.

That would be a NO on the commuter, you understand, insurance reasons
Looking forward to Saturday

Depending on the size of the battery you are going to use. It looks like you might be able to use a longer lower plate to mount a battery on the electronics plate. The plate that uses spacers and screws to attach to the front 4-link plate. Driveshaft angle might hinder this but check it out once mounted.

I picked up a plate in hopes of using it to mount the electronics like you suggest. After looking at other builds I was hoping to mount every thing over the front axle. I will make sure to keep an eye on the driveshaft angles.

Nice 'Axial' cut-out on the body, is that home made?

No, I just masked off the one on the body so it would be clear.

Yea, I didn't know where you had plans to mount your electronics. Putting everything on the front axle can be done. Just have to place everything so you do limit your turning my the tires hitting something on the inside.

Great time today. Learned a ton. Big thanks to Josh and Kent. All and all a good build. Bummed we couldn't get the motor to work but the rig came out sweet. A lot closer to the rocks.

It's alive, it's alive... Kent nailed it on the head. I had to long of screws through the motor plate. It runs!!! My first full build is complete. What a fun experience, taking something from parts to running rig. Again big thanks to Kent and Josh for sharing their knowledge and helping me out. Now I have to learn to crawl.

Look awesome man! What's the ground clearance at the front and rear or the skid?
