| Gear noise
The (well greased) overdrive front gears are pretty noisy, which I assume means I have heavy mesh engagement. It gets quiet if I pull the pinion full back and I could make it stay there with a shim between the outer pinion gear and the driveshaft hub. But heavy mesh ensures no tooth skip, so which do you guys find more important -- heavy but noisy mesh, or quieter with less mesh? |

No tooth skip. The gears will break in and quiet down. With that said, I've never had an issue with those gears... |

are they new gears? if they are new they are loud until they break in, if they are old and worn then replace them... either way there will be some noise...... so just turn up the music and have another beer!!! haha |
