Default speed

Hi everyone
I have looking and reading posts here for a sometime, but this is my first post.
I’m looking to get a bit more speed out of my ax10.
At the moment I have a 35T motor 14 pinion. I like this set up for crawling, but sometimes I it would be nice to have more speed when not crawling.
Should I have a second motor, 20T with the same 14 pinion. Or keep the 35T and then gear it down ? Buying a second faster truck in not an option at the moment.

Any help would be gratefully received. Steve

how bout a 2 speed transmission? that is the route im going to go..

i have a 27T and it does ok.. id like a 35T but there isnt much to crawl over around here... so my solution will be a 2 speed.. best of both worlds..

How about just running a larger pinion?

the cheapest option would be buying a 27 turn motor. i just took one out of my ax10 becuase i wanted to make it slower. the 27t does pretty good for crawling but you have speed when you need it

Well i tried the 20T motor today and it was faster, but a little more speed would be better. So i going to try a 20 T pinion next week.

original guy i got my ax10 from had a 19turn motor and 20 tooth pinion and the motor got really hot.. guessing not geared well..... but that is me... remember... faster you go the less of a crawler it is.... well from my understanding.. what if you went with 3s lipo?
