It is not over the top, but I am worried that he will have some tire rub issues.

I did some CMS work last night. I had a piece of aluminum flat stock lying around that I have been saving for this project. I bent it like so, to fit between the chassis rails. Due to my front bumper mounting inside the chassis rails, and the stinger mount, the CMS needs to be sideways. The panhard bar will also mount to the back of this servo bracket: The servo will attach like this: I had a scrap of aluminum angle that already had little holes drilled in it, the proper size and spacing to bolt onto the axle. I used it for the axle mount for the panhard bar: So far so good |

I need to take steering adjustment lessons from you. You are much better at it than I am. Also there is nothing wrong with a little tire rub. The problem is when it limits the suspension travel.

Glad to help, anytime. There are a lot of factors / components involved in getting better steering. Today I assembled things (still need to get some tube) and installed the panhard bar. It took a couple tries to get the length of it right, but it's pretty close now. Also cut the axle servo mount posts off to help make room. I had to turn the servo travel up to 150% on the Tx to get the steering as tight as it was before. I imagine this has something to do with the placement of the servo, but haven't investigated much yet. I kind of just want to get it back to together and drive it. |

NIce work. And your camera is stinking amazing. We should do a photo shoot for the club on Saturday. Everyone wipe down their trucks and we will pose them up as a group. I think that would be cool. I hope to get the bug fixed tomorrow and ready for Saturday.

Thanks man Yeah I can bring the "nice camera" Saturday. I would love to be more intentional about getting some quality shots and some group shots.

Due to the front end being out farther from the tranny, I had to lengthen the front driveshaft. I had a spare, so I used two female pieces and one male piece to join them. I glued the male piece into the front female piece: I put the rig back together, minus that tubing I haven't got to yet, and drove it around the garage a little. Took some shots: I got it to scurry up this plywood; it climbed it well! Better than my class 2 rig. PS - The tires don't actually rub as much as I thought they would, when going forward. I don't think it's a problem. Going backwards is a different story....but who wants to go backwards! Last edited by Josh_Br; 09-19-2012 at 08:11 PM. |

Your truck looks more aggressive than it did before. I thin that the new drop bed and spare tire make added a lot. It also looks like you lowered the body down some. I think that may have improved your cog some as well. I think there is going to be some tight competition this weekend.

You may be right. I didn't intentionally lower it, but I think the rear of the body ended up a little lower due to the drop bed process, and moving the front axle forward put the front shocks at more of an angle and lowered the front end a little. I picked up some brake line this morning so hopefully I'll get the links finished up soon. Looking forward to the comp Saturday. The drop bed and the CMS are new since last month. The drop bed is worth -3 and the CMS is worth -5. But scale points aside, hopefully the truck (and the driver) do well on the course. |

That's nice I think all that I added was 2 points for the stinger unless I get to count the wheel wells. Which I am hoping I do because the were a pain.

I kno but I am not sure they wiil count as wheel wells as they are attached to the chassis, but there is a bit of a gap between the body and metal.

I am definitely no expert, but Ryan's wheel wells are attached to his chassis' and we've always counted them.

Shouldn't wheel wells be attached to the chassis?
