The Wraith body came a couple days ago. I started doing some cutting to see how it was going to fit. I plan to take the rubber fender flares off the old Bronco body and put them on this body. So far, I like the size of the new body; I think it is going to work out well. That being said, there are a lot of steps between now and "finished" - body trimming and paint, cage work, and interior. Trying to be patient.

I just ran across this, and wasn't sure if you found what you are looking for yet. Since you already have the torch, you could grab this from your local Ace for under $20. I bought this once out of curiosity, and it works great. More than enough to do a full chassis' worth of trail armor, and the flux is better than Harris.

That body looks crazy even though I know that there will be a cage it is hard to see it right now. However, as with everything else I am sure that it will be top notch when you are done with it.

I have seen that solder to by the way. They sell it at my local hard ware store. I didnt think that it looked like enought to do a chassis and my brazing rod that I bought was cheaper than it so I went that way.

I took the flares off the old body today. Thank you, RC4WD, for using screws smaller than a flea.

Finished trimming the new body. Time for washing, masking, then paint. I cut out the solid doors, planning to use those.

Are opening doors extra points?

They might be one point; I'm not certain without checking the rules. To be honest......they will probably be glued to the body. Thanks for the idea though The idea of hinges and magnets sounds really cool, but at least for now I just want to press on and get through the projects before the 27th. Need to finish the body, then do the cage and interior.

I did finish trimming the body today and washed it. Hopefully tonight or tomorrow I'll do masking and start on paint. Also, if you look at the front bumper in one of the prior photos, there is that piece that comes up from behind the bumper and has the fairlead on it. I did away with that piece and mounted the fairlead to the bumper itself inbetween where the stinger goes through the bumper. I also plan to move the bumper back a little farther, in order to keep it a little more behind the front of the front tires. The new body is a little shorter, so it allows some extra space for this compared to the prior body.

So far so good

I got the body painted (still need to put the flares on) and mounted. I also painted the front bumper and stinger, because the rest of the tube work will be black, not silver:

Thanks guys, appreciate it. It's nice to see the body painted and on the truck. I'm looking forward to getting more time to work on it, hopefully soon.
