Default Hittman's Featherweight Sporty

Well, I have had this rig long enough that I think its time to do a build thread on it. I am sorry about the pictures, I know they are not the best, but i got a new camera today so i am still adjusting to it. I started out with an Ax10 rtr in June of 2009, It has progressed over the years and is to the point where it is fun to drive and wins comps, the best of both worlds. I feel that this is going to be a solid rig for me in my up comig season with all the recent changes i have made. Here is my parts list:

Chassis/suspension:
BWD custom cut SSS-RS CF
Axial scx plastic bodied shocks (rear modded, front stock)
Custom carbon fiber upper links made by me
BWD ti front lowers and SSS-R rear lowers
Sniper fab shop link sliders on front lower links

Front axle:
Axial OD gears
Vanquish xr knuckles and c's
Cut down xr universals
Custom steering links
Custom lw bender customs front servo mount/ custom electronics plate
Dlux knuckle weights with misc weight rings

Rear axle:
BWD carbon fiber rear link mount
All stock other than that

Tires/wheel:
Cut and clapped Boss claws
Ytown lw 4 post glue on wheels
Old Crawler innovations foam in front Soft/firm
Narrowed stock bc foam with 5.25" CI soft tuning ring in the rear

Trans/driveline:
Hot racing aluminum gears
Robinson racing 87t spur
14t pinion
stock case
Lw motor plate
and junfac driveshafts

Electronics:
Decased FXR on front axle
Castle bec set to 6v on front axle
Futaba 2104 receiver mounted in chassis
Savox SA-1230sg servo
Holmes 27t torquemaster handwound
Maxamps 430mah 2s lipos

This rig was built at the end of last season and got me through the last couple comps and states with it. I fine tuned everything over my down time before this season starts and feel that I have a winner in my hands

Ok.. Enough balbbering.. On to pics:

Few pictures of steering set up

Electronics placement

Front and rear suspension placement and link locations

I like that chassis, it is reminiscent of the DNA Slingshot

Thanks, I like it too. It seems to work pretty good for me. I removed a few lugs from the rear ones last week and they seem to do much better.. No more bouncing

Pretty slick. Much of the chassis lightness is because you have no high sideplate beams. Which leaves the shock mounts kind of out there. Do those break a lot? If not, I wonder why?

And your skid clearance is higher than most. With no weights in the wheels to lower the CG, don't you turtle early on extreme angles? Of course the knuckle weights help, but a 3lb rig can't have a huge amount of weights there either.

I only took out the front brace from inbetween the shocks so the battery clears. But there is the support right in front of the spur so the flex isnt bad. I have 4 packs through it since i removed the support and it has done fine.

It really does good. Driving with such light wheels is deferently a different driving style.. but i have been runnning without weighted wheels for 9 months, so i know how it acts. I have yet to test it on a verticle board so i am not sure the verticle degrees possible.. But when crawling it does perfectly fine and doesnt lift up. It follows pro rigs without problems.
