Thask for the input ;)
I'll go and work with it. I go and work to mount everything on the front axle, but with the servo in the middle. and with link mounts up and below the plate..
you will see some more sketches soon ;)

I finally got a chassis sent out to Oz Bruiser today. He has promised to do some testing for us.

I'm only missing a BEC and then I'll start to wire up the electronics. Hope to receive it any day now.

The front axle will still need some sort of XR10 mod but that will come a little later.

I believe we are soon to release vendor info on the base chassis.

Thank you Tomi and Team NCD. I look forward to it and making a start on this and doing justice to the design by Douwe and the componentry by you Tomi.

Today I got round to try a one piece cab idea I had been thinking of for a while.

The cf cab weighs 15g and this pcb cab weighs in at 10g. I am still goind to tweak the design a little to get some more lateral stiffness and hope to shave 1-2g in the process.

I also did one out of delrin but that weighed 12g so there is not much difference to the cf cab if done in delrin.

Does it make a difference in the end - I don't think so. But it's a nice option.

Great job once again! Maybe you could extend the top a little to wrap around the front and rear radius of the roof. Ofcoarse that would add a bit of weight. Keep up all the awsome products!

Don't make the bends parallel. make them bend at an angle, pinching the front slightly narrower. That should increase the rigidity.

If that would be possible it would really stiffen the complete structure nicely. But I don't see a way to do that as the cab is cut from sheet material and then heat bent.

I have the rear of the roof pinching slightly narrower.

One piece cab is a pretty cool idea. You should vacuum form it to get the radiused roof bars as 63comet suggested

Looking great Tomi.. but I've seen this a lot earlier today.
To bad this isn't possible with carbon. Mate make a mold and then carbon material in it and then resin.

But first of all, this is cool.. the SuDu is getting better and better.

Vacuum forming it would be cool. The vacuum former is easy to build but the mold takes more time.

If someone has an easy idea on how to make molds on a simple 3 axis cnc I'm all ears.

Would it be possible to use a 3D printer to make a mold? I dont know alot about them.

I would make the mold just holw you made the 1 piece cab. Just leave a windshiled and back window area intact and epoxy the edges to seal it up. Also make some scribe lines in it for trimming guides later.

3D printing is pretty dope, but not too sure how the programming it would go, and not sure how rigid the resin is when cured.

My bro in law got a 3d printer. Might have to have a look if I get that topper.
