Yes, a counter rotation unit like EGRESSor is surely very a good solution (which I have for a very long time desire for testing) and which should be not too difficult to make, but I acknowledge have idleness to remake a new transmission

I notice your motor is on the left hand side (when view from above and front point away from you). Can you put the motor to the RHS so to help the torque twist? I took a look at the R2 tranny, I think you can swap the motor to the other side by taking out the end plate and flipping (inside out) it and the motor should be on the RHS.

I like the AR60 axle, because it is easy and simple to change their direction of rotation, while turning over the spool simply It is simpler and rapid than modify the transmission

After one long period, I decide to continue this project. I benefit from it for to test an idea that I trail since years, a tranny contrarotating. The idea is to have the 2 driveshafts which go to the axles, which turn in opposite direction, the goal being to decrease the torque-twist. I saw, there is a few times, a thread of Egressor' AX-10, which also had tested this solution and seemed satisfied about it. That consolidated me in the idea that the principle was viable. I thus arranged a contrarotating R2-V2, history to test all that

The principle being simple, it is enough to add a second exit of tranny, directly pulled by the first. They thus turn in opposite directions. On the pic, the bottom shaft goes to the front axle, and the top shaft go to the rear axle.




The surplus of weight is very tiny, that is to say approx. +20g…

After some adjustments, the principle seems viable, the torque-twist with quasi disappeared
But, once more it is not a miracle solution. A contrarotating tranny does not make disappear the torque-twist, with it only. It is always necessary to carry out many adjustments… What is interesting, it is that the torque-twist is very clearly decreased in reverse.

Less torque twist in reverse direction? Have you considered reverse polarity on the motor and copping of the diff fear I the axle housing to see if that has a positive effect?

Yes, less torque twist in reverse direction
For example, in reverse (with OD and UD gear) if you turn the front wheels, a rear wheel raises ground. Now, in reverse, the rig is always perfectly flat, even if I turn the front wheels.

My friend's rig lifts a tire in reverse just as you describe. Mine does not.

We weren't sure why.

His motor is in the same position as yours, mine is opposite.

Perhaps that's the underlying cause.

Two significant factors must be considered:

• Yes, the position of the motor is important. According to the position of the engine, I have torque-twist also more or less.
• Use OD and UD GEAR. In reverse running, the rear axle slows down to rig. That thus causes a strong resistance to reverse from where an important torque-twist.

Today, I worked on front damping. The position of the front shock on the AR60 axle is very spaced. The rig is very stable but unflexibility in crossing. I thus test different inking of shock and more closer. I also shortened the shaft of the shock , to limit it. I wish to keep the green springs Losi






Now, it's enables to pass this kind of obstacle:

With the inking of origin, it was reversed systematically. But it lose some stability in side hills, I will have to find a compromise

Today I received the parts from Tomi, as usual it is super clean and precise It's 2.5mm CF.

The whole of the parts:


First assembly


On this project, the skid is very complex, but it enables me to minimize frictions, without having to reduce the width of the trany.
It is inspired by the SCX-10 or the Losi.

Assembly of the front axle. The part surely still will evolve, probably on the level of position of the shock.

She weight 95g (with skid).

The final weight is of 1,505 kg RTR - 3 lb and 5 oz (without the 115g - 4 oz of weight distributed in the 4 wheels). The weight should quickly go down under the 1,500 kg with some optimizations. Tomorrow, probably first tests
