Thanks Master Basher But I am simply a draughtsman

This week, I am finally to decide to made an idea that I have in the head for a long time, of the full CF rim. I just replaced the spacers by a round in CF on my old rim.

It is extremely solid, probably more than with the spacers and it is 3 or 4g of gained…
The rims weighs 10g and probably less with one more specific design
I wait my tires to test them on the rocks!!

Hi,

Some news. I received the rear titanium shaft. Thanks to CREEPERBOB
Only 18g compared to 42g of the steel shaft.

New front shock, I prefer the BigBore to the shock of SCX10.

After many, many tests, I found the good geometry of rear links to manage the torque twist.

This rig was very, very long to develop and to regulate but now it functions with wonder, a true pleasure to drive…

A litle video here

Love all the work you do on your car.
Very inspiring.

What is the thickness of the carbon fiber on your back axle?

Hi,

Thank you for your comments

The 2 parts do not have the same thickness. In front, I use 2.5mm CF and in rear, 1.5mm

Hi,

I am to decide to made the supports of weights. This part is complicated to make for me because I use hub very small and there is thus very little place.

Therefore, I started from a profile aluminum in L

Afert some cut

In situation

With one half flat washer to start, I expect narrow M22 flat washer to supplement ballasting.
It is necessary to count 12/13g by half-flat washer approx.

With wheel

Although this part exists already done everything, I preferred to do it for several reasons.
Already with the horrible time for the delivery, I am not on receiving them before Big in Jully.
Then, I fear that on the version commercial, the central hole is too small and that my hub blocks. Thus as long as has to make, I did them

This is my delrin hub

I expect the flat washer to finalize ballasting front and rear and remplace the VP rim by CF rim.

You can compete without a body in shafty class in France? That should be the rule anywhere. In US, a 12" by 5" by 3" body is required for shafty class. That is such a travesty. That rule will be changed sometime, but I can't say when. Apparently someone thinks it is necessary for now. These mechanical beauties should be enjoyed and run without obstruction.

Yes, for the moment one can run in Sportman with bodyless and the spec is the same as 2.2 pro.

Crawler is a category of RC really different. The rules is conceived around the (logical) idea that the beginners will start with a sportman and the more experienced pilots will go to the Pro. Personally, I think that it is the opposite, it is what I noted in France.
There are several reasons has that:
  • The 2.2 pro are more obviously attractive, they seem more "powerful". I see, in France everyone to begin directly into 2.2 pro.
  • To build a powerful sportman is very difficult, to be little more than one pro (It is a personal point of view). Because of the torque twist and also because the engine and the transmission are place higher.
  • To drive a sportman is finally more difficult than a pro (It is a other personal point of view ). With a pro, after you have understood the use of the dig, you can correct the error of trajectory easily, with a sportman not…
  • The budget with final is almost the same to build a sportman, there is 1 motor and one 1 ESC in less to buy
  • it is not astonishing so of more than pilot pro drive now in sportman…
I do not say that to reopen a debate but it is just the report which I make by looking at what it occurs to France.

Thanks.
Absolutely true!
I don't have a pro, too... Just a shafty. In Germany only experienced drivers like ZZR and Fritzthefly etc. are having a shafty, the "beginners" are all starting with a Pro because Pro rigs are a little capable like edges etc. and you can correct drivemistake more easily with the dig. ;)
Also the COG of a Pro is a lower than the COG of a shafty.
Begginers are not driving comps at the start, they just want to drive "by their own rules" and in their "freetime" and for this usage a Pro is way better than a Shafty.
